EPZ: Strategic Investment in AUM

JOE MAZUMDAR, Haywood Securities (11/09/2010)
"Esperanza Resources recently announced a strategic investment of up to 36.4% in Golden Minerals, which has the Strieborna silver/copper advanced-stage exploration project located in Slovakia. The project holds an M&I resource of 14.3 Moz. grading about 231 g/t silver and 48 Mlb. copper grading 1.13%, with an additional 8.7 Moz. silver grading 180 g/t silver and 29 Mlb. copper grading 0.9% copper in the inferred categories.

Its other key ventures include a wholly owned gold development project, Cerro Jumil in Mexico and a 20% carried interest in a gold and silver development project, the San Luis property in Peru. The company also has an extensive generative exploration portfolio. Note that both Cerro Jumil and San Luis were grassroots discoveries.

The near-term catalysts include news from expansion drilling at Cerro Jumil and reports related to a feasibility study in 2011. A resource update is anticipated by Q111, along with updates on optimization vs. the 2009 PEA. We also anticipate news flow from work to generate prospects in Peru and Slovakia by Q111. The company has spent $4M of its original budget of $6.3M and has about $8M in the treasury."
