Apollo's First Assay Results from Pike River

KERRY SMITH, Haywood Securities (03/05/2010)
"Apollo has released assay results from 11 additional holes at Grey Fox/Pike River—the company has now released assay results on 50 of the 53-hole, 9,936-meter drill program completed in 2009. The remaining three holes to be assayed (holes GF09-67 to GF09-69) trend approximately 75–100 meters further north from these holes just released. Mineralization at the "Contact Zone" has now been identified over a strike length of approximately 400 meters and grades and widths continue to show improvement as mineralization extends to the north.

Hole GF09-64 to GF09-66 continue to show encouraging widths and grades to the north—Apollo continues to follow the mineralization north in an attempt to locate the intersection between the north-south trending "Contact Zone" and the northwest-southeast trending Dester Porcupine Fault Zone (DPFZ). . .today's reported assay results from the Pike River Property include 4.3 meters of 3.03 grams per ton in hole GF09-64, 4.2 meters of 19.37 grams per ton in hole GF09-65 and 7 meters of 3.78 grams per ton in hole GF09-66—the most northerly three holes released so far. A further three holes north of hole GF09-66 have assays pending.

The 43-101 resource estimate at Grey Fox expected in Q2/10—Drilling in 2009 focused on stepping out at 50 meter intervals to the north along the "Contact Zone" mineralization.

We continue to recommend the shares of Apollo Gold Corp. with a SECTOR OUTPERFORM rating and SPECULATIVE risk profile."
