Midland's Casault Property

ERIC LEMIEUX, Laurentian Bank Securities (02/10/2010)
"Midland announced yesterday that it has acquired via map staking a position in Northwestern Quebec. The Casault property covers more than 8km strike length of the eastern extensions of the Sunday Lake Deformation Zone (SLDZ) that hosts the Detour Lake gold deposit in Ontario approximately 40 km west.

We highlight that impact is viewed as positive. We believe exploration potential is very good for this early stage project. This new strategic land position is the latest addition to Midland's growing portfolio of properties acquired as a result of pro-active project generation. The acquisition is inexpensive, logical and sets Midland in what may be an emerging strategic area as the Detour Lake project advances towards production.

We believe that Midland has acquired a property that has merit. The Casault property could potentially be farmed-out to a potential partner that views the area as an emerging gold belt. We believe this type of acquisition highlights Midland's strong project-generation capacity and is in line with its business model. We reiterate our Speculative Buy recommendation with a $1.75 target price on Midland shares."
