Kiska's Whistler Looks Promising

"Kiska's key project of interest is the Whistler property in Alaska, which covers 440 square kilometers in an area about 160 kilometers northwest of Anchorage. The Whistler project covers an E-W trending Au-Cu porphyry belt. Within the project area, Kiska management suggests there are over 40 untested geological targets. The Whistler zone is the most advanced target in the area and currently hosts an NI 43-101 resource (indicated and inferred) containing about 5.75 million ounces AuEq. The company plans to complete IP geophysics (341 line-kilometers) in late summer to narrow down the 40+ previously identified area targets. An initial 7,000 meter drill program is planned for February 2010. The Muddy Creek target area has returned rock chip samples (about 150) over an area of 3.2 by 3.3 kilometers averaging 4.72 g/t Au.

Last week Kiska announced the discovery of a new Cu–Au mineralized porphyry at the Island Mountain target, located approximately 23 kilometers south of the Whistler Cu–Au deposit resource area. The first of two holes completed in the 2009 drilling program (five holes total) returned 0.68 g/t gold over 382.9 metres. According to the company, hole IM09-001 returned an upper interval of 150.0 meters that averaged 0.72 g/t gold and a lower 106.9 meter intersection from 280.0 meters to the end of the hole that averaged 1.22 g/t gold. Copper results remain outstanding. The Island Mountain area hosts anomalous copper and gold rock and soil geochemistry spanning a 2.5 by 4.0 kilometer area. Surface rock samples have returned values up to 1.19 g/t gold, 5.2 g/t silver and 0.2% copper. Drill hole IM09-002 also targeted the Iron Mountain zone and returned 202 meters grading 0.13 g/t Au. The three remaining holes targeted the Lightning, Digger and Raintree zones, assay results are pending.

The Whistler project is subject to a potential earn-in option with Kennecott. Kennecott has a one-time earn-in option (51-60%) following a trigger program by Kiska that includes completing 341 line kilometers of IP geophysics and 7,000 meters of drilling. The program is scheduled to be complete by mid 2010."
