DESCRIPTION: Rare Element Resources Ltd. is a publicly traded company exploring for gold and rare-earth elements (REE's). Rare Element Resources holds 100% interest in the Bear Lodge property, which hosts the largest disseminated REE deposit in North America (US Geological Survey Professional Paper 1049D) as well as extensive gold occurrences.

Victor Goncalves, The Green Money Report (06/25/09)
The Gold Report
MF: I was also on tour of the Bear Lodge property last September and was impressed with what Rare Element Resources has done there. It's a light rare earth element deposit similar geologically to Mountain Pass and hosted by carbonatite dikes. They recently came out with a 43-101 qualified resource estimate and are now assaying some old holes that were never completely assayed before. From what I gather, they're finding some additional zones within these historic drill holes. They intend to do more drilling this year than they've probably done in the last three or so years to advance this deposit, Metallurgical testing is progressing and initial indications are it's going to be positive.
Another thing I like about Rare Element Resources is they actually have two plays on the project. Adjacent to the rare earth element prospects is a Cripple Creek-style gold prospect that's joint-ventured to Newmont, with an exploration permit pending. Newmont's interest tells you what size potential they can see. They went for a 200-acre disturbance permit and although that's taken a lot longer to get, I would expect that permit to be granted in the very near future and Newmont will start a major program of drilling the gold project, too.
TGR: Nice place to be in this environment.
MF: It really is. I like the Rare Element Resources story. There's been big movement in the sector in the last few weeks and the valuations of these stocks have close to doubled. Interestingly, a prominent newsletter writer who we all knew as the original gold bug, then the original uranium bug, is now the original rare earth element bug.

The Gold Report Interview with Mickey Fulp (06/19/09)
The Gold Report
"Another company, Rare Element Resources has its Bear Lodge deposit in Wyoming. The deposit, on the one hand, is farmed out to Newmont for its gold potential and Newmont has been waiting for two years to get a full-blown environmental assessment done so that when it starts drilling, the 5 million-plus ounce target that it's seeking doesn't get stalled by having to reapply for permits. At the same time, the company has just published a 43-101 resource estimate outlining the rare earth resources that they have on the project.
So it's a nice company in that you get two completely unrelated stories for the price of one, and it doesn't have a lot of stock outstanding either; so while it would net only 20% of any multi-million ounce gold deposit that Newmont finds, it has 100% of the rare earth deposits there."

The Gold Report Interview with John Kaiser (06/02/09)
The Gold Report
"Rare Element Resources (RES) was one of five stocks recommended by letter writer Jim Dines in this month's letter: no further details were provided. Much to the chagrin of John Kaiser who has devoted considerable time to the subject, Dines now the 'original rare earth elements bug,' announced rare earths are the next super major big-ass bull market. RES caught fire, jumping from C$0.90 to C$1.34. Nothing has fundamentally changed however."

"Lithium and rare elements are the 'story' of the week, one that deserves attention given constrained supplies and what looks like a voracious appetite for the element. Indeed, even a company called Rare Element Resources (TSX: V.RES), supported for good reason by my mentor and friend, mining analyst (now retired) Bob Bishop, is getting serious dollar attention this week. The company explores for various rare earth oxides in Wyoming."
