  Rare Element Resources Ltd.

TICKER:  RES: TSX.V
DESCRIPTION:  Rare Element Resources Ltd. is a publicly traded company exploring for gold and rare-earth elements (REE's). Rare Element Resources holds 100% interest in the Bear Lodge property, which hosts the largest disseminated REE deposit in North America (US Geological Survey Professional Paper 1049D) as well as extensive gold occurrences.

Kevin Graham, of Graham Analytics, recently issued a Preliminary Report and a Survey Report. Download full report.

The information below is based on the most recent information we have received from analysts and the companies participating in The Gold Report. We encourage you to visit the company's web site for updates.
The Gold Report "Rare Element Resources (RES.V; C$0.67) plans a 1,000-meter drilling program this year to test initial drill targets for rare earth element (REE) mineralization at its Bear Lodge property in Wyoming. Drill-hole locations have been chosen to expand the historical rare-earth discoveries made by Hecla Mining Company and to provide additional material for metallurgical testing. But REE isn’t the reason we bought the company — the story of Bear Lodge as an analog to the Cripple Creek gold mine is the real reason we’re excited. A subsidiary of Newmont Mining Corporation is earning a 65% interest in gold and base metals (not the REEs and uranium) at Bear Lodge by spending $5 million on exploration. Drilling results from a late 2007 program included 9.1 meters averaging 1.18 g/t gold within 85.4 meters averaging 0.47 g/t gold. The first part of this year’s program, which will test several targets, includes geologic work, soil geochemical sampling and an induced polarization survey. This work started in June, and the partners hope to have an expanded exploration permit approved later this year that will allow for more drilling. Bear Lodge is a viable rare earth element project and will help establish a floor value for the stock, while the gold exploration story will take it higher. For both reasons, it remains a buy." The Gold Report "Two of my favorite companies for sure...Rare Element is in Wyoming and has a gold deposit of some significance, and I say “some significance,” because Newmont is a joint venture partner, and Newmont keeps spending more and more money on it. It is my belief that Newmont doesn’t spend the amounts of money that they’ve spent on Rare Element unless they see a minimum of 5 million ounces of gold.

So, we’re very excited there, and more to the point, they have the largest disseminated rare earth deposit in the United States. And you’ll say, “Well, big deal.” Well, the rare earth deposit there is probably bigger than the gold deposit there. In other words, I’m saying there is a potential for it to be a 5 million gold ounce equivalent in terms of rare earth. And these are stocks with tiny market caps relative to what the market will grant them credit for once we see a little more drilling done." (8/15/08)

The Gold Report "Rare Element Resources Ltd. has announced that initial successful metallurgical leach tests have been completed for the Sundance Gold Project in Wyoming.

The purpose of these bottle-roll and column leach tests, which were conducted at Newmont Metallurgical Services (NMS) laboratory, was to determine initial leach characteristics and recoveries at various crush and grind sizes of the low-grade, near-surface gold mineralized material.

The initial column leach test results, which are more indicative of potential production, have yielded 78.4 percent recovery at -3/4 inch crush size, 80.5 percent at -10 mesh (sand size), and 87.9 percent at -200 mesh (fine powder).

These tests successfully provide the first indication of how the Sundance gold mineralization might respond to leaching processes. They also provide a basis for fine-tuning the leach methodology to optimize the economic extraction of gold.

Don Ranta, president of Rare Element Resources, said the test results “suggest that reasonable recoveries may be achieved in an open pit mine and run-of-mine heap leach operation that has the potential to be relatively low in both capital costs and operating costs."(6/2/08)

The Gold Report Recommendation: Accumulate and “buy” recommendation for speculative accounts at the recent range - $0.80 – 1.20 – This is an admittedly wide range; sophisticated investors, trying to accumulate a large position, should tread gently. However, we believe the chance for substantial gains in our indicated timeframe will payoff with significant returns for smaller investors whether they pay $0.90 or $1.30. We do not expect to see a significant number of shares available under $1.20; the stock appears very tight to us and at current level, sellers seem scarce. (4/29/08)

The Gold Report "According to the USGS, Bear Lodge is, “The largest deposit of disseminated (definition) rare-earth elements in North America.” From the Company’s web site, “Virtually all of the significant REE mineralization is located on claims owned by Rare Element Resources.”

Currently, the Company is engaged in metallurgical tests on recent drilling samples to better understand the feasibility of various extraction methods. Success in these tests will likely be followed by aggressive drilling in an effort to define the resource base. According to the USGS, the metals are there at Bear Lodge. It’s now up to the Company to ensure an effective method for extracting and separating these metals.

Rare Element Resources has recently made significant changes in management, with Don Ranta coming on as the new president, and the creation of a high profile Advisory Board. With these new appointments, I expect activities for the Company to pick up speed very shortly.

In broad strokes, this Company is currently a gold play, with meaningful potential for much more. The Company hopes for the rare-earth element side to develop into a match for the gold side. The marketplace doesn’t yet understand rare-earth elements." (3/23/08)
