Copper One Expands Critical Minerals Portfolio With CA$3.65 Million Labrador Acquisition

Copper One Resources Corp. (CEXY:CSE; CEXYF:OTCPK; IW8:FSE) announced that it had entered into a purchase and sale agreement to acquire a 100% interest in the Sword & Gossan Mineral Properties in west-central Labrador, Newfoundland and Labrador.

The agreement, dated October 6, 2026, was entered into with 1594122 B.C. Ltd., an arm's-length vendor. The acquisition covers ten mineral licenses comprising 156 claims across approximately 3,900 hectares, located about 90 kilometers north of Churchill Falls on the northern side of the Smallwood Reservoir.

The property includes the historical Sword, also known as Michikamau, nickel-copper-cobalt project, where previous operators conducted airborne geophysical surveys, geological mapping, surface sampling, and initial drilling. That work identified a magmatic sulphide system containing nickel-copper-cobalt mineralization, along with multiple electromagnetic conductors that have not been drill-tested.

The central unanswered question is whether the electromagnetic conductors identified at Sword & Gossan represent substantial nickel-copper-cobalt sulphide mineralization. Although historical reports described mineralized showings and drilling that intersected sulphides at the Juno conductive zone, most of the property's electromagnetic targets remain untested by drilling. Additional exploration, laboratory analysis, and geological evaluation will be required to determine whether these targets contain mineralization of sufficient grade, size, and continuity to warrant further development studies.

"The proposed acquisition of Sword & Gossan would expand Copper One's North American critical metals portfolio with a nickel-copper-cobalt exploration opportunity in Labrador," said David Greenway, President and CEO of Copper One, in the company's news release. "Historical surface sampling and drilling identified mineralization, while multiple electromagnetic conductors remain untested."

Under the agreement, Copper One will pay the vendor CA$3.65 million in cash, consisting of an initial CA$1.15 million payment due one business day after the agreement's effective date and a second payment of CA$2.5 million within six months of execution. In addition, the company is required to make two advance royalty payments of CA$200,000 each on the first and second anniversaries of the effective date, bringing total scheduled cash commitments to CA$4.05 million, excluding any optional royalty buyback. No company securities will be issued as part of the acquisition.

The property is subject to an existing 2% net smelter returns royalty payable to its underlying owner. Copper One has the option to purchase 1% of that royalty for CA$2 million in cash at any time through written notice, reducing the aggregate royalty to 1%.

Completion of the transaction remains subject to due diligence, board approvals, required third-party consents, Canadian Securities Exchange acceptance, and the absence of a material adverse change in the property's status before closing. No finder's fees are payable.

The Sword project area consists of seven licenses covering 57 claims and 1,425 hectares, while Gossan comprises three licenses covering 99 claims and 2,475 hectares. The vendor has represented that the licenses are in good standing, with CA$31,200 in assessment expenditures due between July and August 2027.

The property lies within the Michikamau Intrusion, one of Labrador's largest anorthosite-troctolite intrusive complexes, and approximately 300 kilometers southwest of the Voisey's Bay nickel-copper-cobalt mine.

Historical exploration conducted between 2005 and 2007 identified multiple electromagnetic conductors that geophysical consultants interpreted as potentially consistent in intensity and geometry with massive sulphide bodies. Most remain untested by drilling. Copper One cautioned in its October 7, 2026, announcement that a qualified person had not completed sufficient work to verify the historical exploration results and that the company was not treating them as current. The historical interpretations and electromagnetic anomalies do not establish the presence, grade, continuity, or economic viability of mineralization.

Historical surface prospecting reported nickel, copper, and cobalt mineralization at several gossanous showings, including Gossan 115 and Sword Far North. At the Juno conductive zone, a historical two-hole drilling program reportedly intersected nickel-copper-cobalt sulphide mineralization across a broad interval. The previous operator's assessment report recommended deeper drilling to investigate a possible feeder system.

The conductors occur within troctolite and leuco-troctolite host rocks, which previous geological interpretations associated with a possible feeder zone to the Michikamau Intrusion.

Copper, Nickel, and Cobalt Markets Reflect Shifting Supply and Demand

According to Trading Economics on October 13, copper traded at US$6.7148 per pound, up 0.24% for the day, 6.08% over the previous month, and 35.05% year over year. The publication reported that copper futures had climbed toward US$6.70 per pound, approaching record highs amid supply disruptions in Chile, the world's largest copper producer.

On the demand side, increased orders associated with data centers, semiconductor development, artificial intelligence infrastructure, battery storage, and electric vehicles across Asia continued to support the market outlook. Falling oil prices also provided support by potentially easing inflationary pressures and reducing expectations for aggressive U.S. Federal Reserve monetary tightening.

Trading Economics on October 8 described cobalt as a "hard, lustrous, gray metal with a high melting point (1493°C)." Its reported applications included chemicals, superalloys for gas turbine blades and aircraft engines, specialized steel, carbides, diamond tools, and magnets. Chemical production accounted for approximately 58% of cobalt use, while the Democratic Republic of the Congo represented more than half of global production.

In its nickel market commentary, Trading Economics reported that "Nickel fell to around US$15,600 per tonne, hitting its lowest level since December 2025 as ample availability continued to weigh on prices."

The report identified increased Philippine nickel ore shipments to Indonesia and rising London Metal Exchange inventories as factors contributing to available supply. Exchange inventories had climbed to 278,898 tonnes by September 24 from an August low of 264,444 tonnes.

Nickel consumption remained concentrated in stainless steel production, while battery demand provided a more limited contribution. The report also described production constraints in Indonesia, including ore quota restrictions and water shortages that had affected some smelting operations.

Together, the October market data showed differing conditions across the three metals, with copper recording substantial annual price gains, nickel posting a smaller yearly increase despite recent weakness, and cobalt experiencing declines over both monthly and annual periods.

Exploration Programs and Resource Definition Plans at Majuba Hill

Separate from the proposed Labrador acquisition, Copper One outlined drilling activities, exploration targets, and resource-definition objectives at its flagship Majuba Hill copper-silver-gold project in Pershing County, Nevada.

Majuba Hill covers approximately 9,684 acres, or 3,919 hectares, comprising 403 federal lode mining claims and two private parcels. The property is located approximately 70 miles southwest of Winnemucca and 156 miles northeast of Reno, with a power substation approximately 22 miles from the site.

Copper One reported more than 90,000 feet, or 27,127 meters, of drilling across more than 110 holes at Majuba Hill. The company completed multiple drilling phases between 2020 and 2025, including five diamond drill holes totaling 5,484.5 feet, or 1,671.7 meters, during 2025.

The 2025 program included drill hole MHB-32, which intersected a 115.7-meter interval grading 0.33% copper and 16.97 parts per million silver. Within that interval, drilling returned 25.9 meters grading 0.64% copper and 50.89 parts per million silver, along with a separate 51.7-meter interval grading 0.41% copper and 9.51 parts per million silver.

Drill hole MHB-34 intersected oxide, enriched, and primary copper mineralization, including 152.4 meters grading 0.21% copper. The company's exploration work also included the use of ExploreTech's artificial intelligence-assisted geological modeling and drill-targeting technology.

Copper One reported that drill hole MHB-36, designed using ExploreTech's geophysical modeling process, intersected hypogene copper mineralization associated with the South Resistivity Anomaly. The hole encountered multiple intervals of copper mineralization in veins and disseminations, including 0.5 meter grading 1.21% copper.

For 2026, the company completed its Phase 1 core drilling program, totaling 4,015 feet (1,224 meters), and subsequently expanded its planned Phase 2 program to up to 10,000 feet (3,048 meters) of diamond core drilling. Its stated objectives include expanding the known mineralized footprint, evaluating continuity between breccia zones, testing ExploreTech-generated targets, and improving geological confidence for subsequent mineral resource estimation work.

The drilling strategy identifies four areas for evaluation. The Southern Breccia Zone program focuses on the historical workings area, while drilling at the Northern Breccia Zone targets discrete breccia bodies. The Bald Breccia and 789 targets are designated for the evaluation of limonite and quartz breccia bodies.

The company also identified work to advance additional target areas toward drill-ready status. Its technical rationale incorporates historical drilling, previously identified tourmaline breccia and breccia corridor controls, geophysical surveys, and soil geochemistry. Copper One described multiple zones at Majuba Hill as remaining under-drilled.

Alongside the drilling program, Copper One outlined a four-phase approach toward an initial mineral resource estimate.

The company's resource-estimation roadmap begins with completing drilling and evaluating the continuity, scale, and geometry of the mineralized breccia zones. Copper One completed its Phase 1 drilling in August 2026, while Phase 2 was subsequently expanded to up to 10,000 feet of diamond core drilling.

The second phase focuses on integrating drilling results with geophysical information, soil sampling, and structural mapping. This work includes refining a three-dimensional geological model and defining mineralized domains.

Under the third phase, Copper One plans to prioritize infill and step-out drilling, establish drill spacing sufficient for resource modeling, and initiate preliminary metallurgical and density studies.

The fourth phase identifies a maiden National Instrument 43-101-compliant mineral resource estimate as an objective, along with evaluating future development pathways. The presentation did not specify a completion date for the estimate.

The company's stated 2026 milestones also include improving geological and mineralization continuity, advancing three target zones through drilling, mapping, and targeting work, integrating geophysical and soil data into its breccia model, and generating follow-up drill-ready targets.

ExploreTech's targeting platform forms another component of the Majuba Hill exploration program. According to Copper One's presentation, the technology combines drilling, geophysics, geochemistry, and historical exploration datasets into a unified three-dimensional geological model. The system uses probabilistic modeling to evaluate subsurface scenarios and identify drilling targets.

Copper One Identifies New Copper-Mineralized Zone at Redonda

Separately, Copper One reported on October 16, 2026, the visual identification of a new copper-mineralized zone at its 100%-owned Redonda Copper-Molybdenum Project in British Columbia.

Step-out drill hole RED-26-04 encountered semi-massive chalcopyrite and magnetite approximately 600 meters northeast of the main mineralized zone, providing a new exploration target within the company's ongoing 2,400-meter diamond drilling program.

These observations are preliminary, and copper grades and the extent of mineralization remain subject to laboratory assay results and further technical evaluation.
