Giant Mining Corp. (CSE: BFG; OTC: BFGFF; FWB: YW5) announced a proposed name change to Copper One Resources Corp., a 10-for-1 share consolidation, and an option to earn up to 100% of the Redhill Property in British Columbia.

Giant Mining Corp. (CSE: BFG; OTC:BFGFF; FWB:YW5) announced that it intends to change its name to "Copper One Resources Corp.," reflecting a stated focus on copper exploration and development. The proposed name change has been approved by the company's board of directors and remains subject to approval from the Canadian Securities Exchange. The company stated it will issue a further news release upon receiving approval, including the effective date of the name change and a planned share consolidation.

The company also intends to consolidate its common shares on a 10-for-1 basis. Giant Mining currently has 237,189,466 common shares issued and outstanding, which would be reduced to approximately 23,718,947 shares following the consolidation, prior to the treatment of fractional shares. Fractional shares will not be issued and will be rounded in accordance with Canadian Securities Exchange policies. Following completion, the company's shares will continue to trade under the symbol "BFG" and will be assigned new CUSIP and ISIN numbers.

David C. Greenway, President and CEO, stated, "The proposed name change to Copper One Resources Corp. marks an important step in aligning our corporate identity with our strategic focus on copper, a metal that is fundamental to global economic development and the ongoing energy transition."

Separately, the company announced that it has entered into an option agreement dated April 21, 2026, with Homegold Resources Ltd., Johan Thom Shearer Ltd., and Bessor Minerals Inc., under which it has the right to earn up to a 100% interest in the Redhill Property in British Columbia. The property is located south of Ashcroft in the Kamloops Mining District and consists of 18 mineral claims totaling approximately 4,736.38 hectares.

The Redhill Property hosts volcanogenic massive sulphide mineralization. Historical exploration, including work by Teck Resources Limited, identified zones of hydrothermal alteration and copper mineralization. Drilling conducted in 2022 by Bessor Minerals Inc. reported intercepts including 9 meters grading 0.61% copper and 0.55% zinc, and 2.32 meters grading 0.56% copper.

Under the agreement terms, the company may earn a 100% interest through a series of cash payments beginning with CA$20,000 upon execution, followed by staged payments through the 10th anniversary totaling CA$500,000, along with required exploration expenditures beginning at CA$100,000 in the first year and increasing to CA$300,000 by the fifth year. Completion of the transaction remains subject to customary conditions, including regulatory approvals.

Copper Prices Hold Near Highs

According to an April 21 report from Benchmark Mineral Intelligence, market participants gathered at CESCO Week 2026 as copper prices were nearing all-time highs, while "exchange stocks remain swollen, and TCs continue to fall." The report noted that copper concentrate treatment and refining charges declined significantly, with one tender reportedly closing at US$-78 per tonne and other trades falling below US$-110 per tonne. It added that "the trend for smelter purchasing is downward," with multiple sources indicating that higher sulphuric acid prices had influenced smelter economics and contributed to ongoing pressure on TC/RCs.

Benchmark Mineral Intelligence also reported that the pricing environment had diverged from underlying supply and demand conditions. One trader source stated that "the copper price is completely unhinged from the fundamentals," citing factors such as elevated inventories, financial market activity, and expectations tied to long-term supply dynamics. The same report noted that visible exchange stocks remained at multi-decade highs and that the copper market had recorded a supply surplus of 616,000 tonnes in the prior year.

A separate April 23 report from Trading Economics, as cited by IndexBox, stated that copper futures "moved back above the US$6 per pound mark," supported by increased restocking activity in China ahead of the Labor Day holiday period. The report noted that Chinese smelters reached a record refined copper output of 1.33 million tons in March, which it described as "the highest volume recorded in data that extends back to 1990." This increase was attributed to higher sulphuric acid prices, which "helped boost output and improve industry margins." The same report indicated that production was expected to ease in subsequent months due to seasonal maintenance.

Reuters reported on April 23 that the International Copper Study Group expected the global refined copper market to shift to a surplus of 96,000 metric tons in 2026, reversing an earlier forecast deficit. The group stated that this shift reflected slower demand growth and increased secondary production. It is projected that global refined copper usage will grow by 1.6% in 2026, with Chinese demand rising by 1.9%, while consumption in regions such as the European Union and Japan is expected to remain subdued. At the same time, the group indicated that global refined copper production was forecast to expand by 0.4% in 2026, constrained by limited concentrate availability, before increasing further in 2027 as additional capacity comes online.

Technical Report Reviewed Exploration Activity and Assigned Speculative Buy Rating

1According to a February 11 report from John Newell of John Newell & Associates, Giant Mining Corp. was identified as "a U.S.-focused copper exploration company listed on the CSE, with its primary asset being the Majuba Hill Copper Project in Nevada." The report stated that the company had advanced the project over several years "through drilling, geophysics, and geological modeling, steadily building a large technical dataset while operating in one of the most mining-friendly jurisdictions in the world."

Newell described the Majuba Hill project as "a large, porphyry-style copper system located in Pershing County, Nevada, roughly 70 miles southwest of Winnemucca," and noted that it "benefits from excellent infrastructure, road access, nearby power, and a long history of mining activity." He added that "historic underground production at Majuba Hill dates back to the early 1900s and includes copper, silver, gold, and tin."

The report stated that exploration activity had included multiple drilling campaigns conducted between 2020 and 2025, noting that "Giant Mining has completed more than 100 drill holes totaling over 80,000 feet of drilling." Newell wrote that more recent programs "have focused on expanding known copper mineralization, testing deeper sulphide targets, and following up on resistivity anomalies generated through modern geophysics and AI-assisted targeting."

The report also referenced an additional asset, stating that the company "holds a 20% ownership interest in the Friday Gold Project, located in the Orogrande Mining District of Idaho, approximately 16 kilometers south-southwest of Elk City." It noted that the project hosts "a historical NI 43-101 mineral resource estimate totaling more than 1.2 million ounces of gold across indicated and inferred categories at grades near 1.0 g/t gold, based on a 2013 technical report."

Regarding leadership, Newell stated that the company "is led by a management team that combines capital markets experience with deep technical and operational expertise in copper exploration and development," adding that David Greenway "brings more than 20 years of experience in building, financing, and advancing public companies, with a strong emphasis on the resource sector."

Newell assigned the company a Speculative Buy rating and set a long-term target price of CA$2.74.

Advancing Projects and Exploration Activity

The company's investor materials outlined ongoing exploration work at its Majuba Hill Project in Nevada, described as a copper-silver-gold deposit. A multi-phase drilling program was conducted between 2020 and 2025, with the 2025 Phase 1 program completing five drill holes totaling 5,484.5 feet.

The drilling included follow-up and extension holes based on prior programs, as well as a fifth hole targeting a resistivity anomaly identified through AI-assisted modeling. Core samples from the program were processed and submitted for analysis, with drilling designed to test deeper mineralized zones and previously identified targets.

Additional drilling details included individual hole depths such as 889.5 feet for MHB-32, 936 feet for MHB-33, and 1,963 feet for MHB-34. The program also incorporated geological mapping, sampling, and geophysical targeting methods.

The company stated that samples from recent drilling programs were processed at its facility in Elko, Nevada, before being sent to ALS Labs for analysis, and that exploration work has included drilling, geophysical surveys, and geological studies aimed at expanding known mineralization zones.
