Centenario Gold Corp. (CTG:CSE) reported an expanded Cabot copper-gold-cobalt trend in Newfoundland, with drilling planned; peers Firefly Metals and New Found Gold advance nearby projects.

Centenario Gold Corp. (CTG:CSE) released a November 5, 2026, exploration update on its Cabot Copper-Gold-Cobalt Project in Newfoundland, extending the exposed Cabot mineralized trend beyond 850 m (meters) through additional trenching.

Key Investor Takeaways

  • Centenario extended the Cabot trend beyond 850 m with 2026 trenching, supported by pending assays from over 350 channel samples.
  • Initial 1,500 m drill program at Cabot expected to mobilize before November 30, 2026, targeting a VMS (volcanogenic massive sulphide) system and geophysical plates.
  • Project located in established VMS district near Firefly Metals Ltd.'s (FFM:TSX; FFM:ASX) Ming deposit with substantial reported resources as of August 2026.
  • The Marble Cove gold prospect on the Cabot property lies 4 km west of New Found Gold Corp.'s (NFG:TSX; NFGC:NYSEAMERICAN) Point Rousse trends, which have produced nearly 200,000 ounces historically.
  • Five geophysical targets were identified at Cabot, with Magellan prioritized for access and drilling.

Cabot Project Expansion Update

According to the release, the company completed an additional 1,000 m of trenching, bringing the exposed Cabot trend to over 850 m along strike. Approximately 350 channel samples and 580 infill soil samples await assays. Access improvements target the Magellan and Columbus geophysical plates for further work. A 1,500 m initial drill program is slated to begin before the end of November, followed by a proposed 3,500 m program in early 2027, subject to results and financing.

Historical grab samples at Cabot returned copper grades up to approximately 7% Cu (copper). VTEM modeling and soil anomalies support five priority targets, with four untested by drilling or trenching. Magellan, about 1 km (kilometer) north of Cabot, shows widespread sericite-pyrite alteration and is the highest-priority drill target outside the main zone. The project also includes the separate Marble Cove quartz-vein gold prospect.

How The Project Stacks Up Against District Peers

Centenario's Cabot project sits in an active VMS district roughly 15 km from Firefly Metals' Ming Deposit, which hosts a reported Measured and Indicated Mineral Resource of 57.3 Mt grading 2.4% CuEq (copper equivalent) and an Inferred Mineral Resource of 17.3 Mt grading 2.8% CuEq as of August 14, 2026. FireFly is advancing engineering, permitting, and early works toward an expanded Green Bay mine and new process plant with a 1.8 Mt/year base case outlined in its August 2026 study.

Approximately 4 km west of New Found Gold's Point Rousse Gold Project, which has historically produced nearly 200,000 ounces of gold and hosts three major mineralized trends, Centenario's Marble Cove gold prospect has returned historical selective grab samples up to 70.38 g/t Au (gold). New Found's Hammerdown gold mine is in commercial production with the Pine Cove mill operating and upgrades underway. These peer activities strengthen the district's mining services ecosystem while Centenario advances its own targets.

Electrical Demand Driver: Copper Need

Copper demand is expected to rise as investment in data centers, power grids, electric vehicles, and other electrification applications expands. A 2026 study by S&P Global projected that global copper demand would increase from 28 million metric tons in 2025 to 42 million metric tons by 2040, representing roughly 50% growth.

Meeting that demand could prove challenging. In its January 2026 report, The Copper Conundrum: Why Meeting AI-Era Electrification Demands Is a Race Against Time, S&P Global projected that mined copper production could peak at 25.8 million metric tons in 2030 before declining to 22 million metric tons by 2040. Recycled copper is expected to supply approximately 31% of total demand by 2040, but the study still identified a potential annual supply shortfall of 10.1 million metric tons. The lengthy development timelines associated with new mines add another challenge to expanding production.

U.S. trade policy and domestic production have added further considerations to the copper market. On April 2, 2026, the White House revised Section 232 tariffs on copper, steel, and aluminum, establishing additional duties of 50% on covered metal products, 25% on certain derivative products, and a temporarily reduced 15% rate on specified industrial machinery and power equipment. A subsequent June 1, 2026, proclamation further adjusted the framework.

Thomson Assigns Price Targets

On October 15, 2026, technical analyst Stewart Thomson told Streetwise Reports that he has assigned the following price targets to Centenario:

  • Short-term: CA$0.26
  • Medium-term: CA$0.46
  • Long-term: CA$1.30

Los Reyes Drilling Underway

In an exclusive statement to Streetwise Reports, VP of Exploration at Centenario, Alain Charest, stated, "The Los Reyes drilling program is only the beginning. The newly revived and well-funded Centenario Gold Corp, although it intends to primarily focus on its two main projects in Mexico and Canada, will keep looking and evaluating other opportunities. A small, manageable market cap, good mineral projects, and a loyal shareholder base make funding an easy task."

According to its September 29, 2026, announcement, Centenario has commenced its maiden Los Reyes drill program in Mexico. The approximately 1,500 m program comprises five to six holes designed to test depth extensions of high-grade copper-zinc-silver skarn mineralization at the Jibosa and Tueda shaft zones. Underground sampling at Tueda has also returned anomalous gold and significant molybdenum values. Drilling results could provide further insight into the extent and continuity of mineralization.

Ownership and Share Structure1

Management and insiders own approximately 3.20% of Centenario, with retail investors accounting for the balance.

The company has roughly 34.33 million shares outstanding and a market capitalization of about CA$4.12 million.

No verified insider open-market buys or sells were found for the last six months.

4 series of warrants remain outstanding. Public records show 3 historical share restructures.
