Bob Moriarty of 321gold.com reviews Algo Grande's latest drill results from Sonora that delivered 139.81 meters of 1.3 percent CuEq and uncovered a fresh gold-rich skarn, strengthening the case for structural control along the project corridor.

Algo Grande Copper Corp.'s (ALGR:TSXV; ALGRF:OTCPK; KM00:FSE) newest intercept at Adelita shows that the project continues to deliver strong copper values while revealing a previously unknown gold-rich zone that fits the structural model I have been watching.

The company started its fully funded Phase II drill program of 7,200 meters back in June 2026 and has now finished roughly 4,000 meters. Results from the first three holes are in, with assays for holes 004 through 009 still awaited. On October 28, the team reported that hole PH2-3 cut 139.81 meters grading 1.3 percent CuEq across three separate skarn layers. The deepest of those layers, now named the Margarita skarn, turned out to be a new gold-rich discovery that backs the idea of a fault-controlled system at Adelita that earlier workers had missed.

Hole 3 marked the first drill test of a target located away from Cerro Grande. Finding a fresh and unexpected skarn zone gives weight to the view that faults cutting through the limestone dictate where skarn bodies develop. The company has already mapped ten structural intersections along the seven-kilometer corridor, each showing magnetic signatures similar to those at Cerro Grande. The Margarita target served as the initial check on that concept.

Although I am not a specialist in deposit formation, I have visited enough projects to recognize the basic process at work. A magmatic intrusion rises and carries traces of metals upward. Acidic fluids then dissolve and transport those metals higher until they encounter a limestone layer. The shift in chemistry causes the metals to drop out of solution and create a skarn.

In many settings, these skarn zones sit near porphyry systems. Earlier assays already pointed to a nearby porphyry at Adelita. Investors often favor porphyries for their long runs of lower-grade material, yet skarns tend to supply a large share of global copper output precisely because their grades run higher even if the intercepts are shorter.

The Margarita discovery, therefore, adds both grade and new exploration ground. With ten comparable structural sites still to test, the corridor offers multiple opportunities to repeat this style of intercept. I see the results as confirmation that the structural thesis is working and that further drilling along the corridor should continue to locate additional skarn horizons.

Key Investor Takeaways

  • Phase II program totals 7,200 meters with about 4,000 meters completed so far.
  • Hole PH2-3 returned 139.81 meters at 1.3 percent CuEq from three skarn layers.
  • The new Margarita skarn is a gold-rich discovery supporting the structural model.
  • Ten structural intersections with similar magnetic signatures have been mapped along the 7 km corridor.
  • Skarns often produce higher grades than the nearby porphyry systems investors prefer.
  • Earlier assays already indicated a porphyry source close to the project.
  • The Margarita target was the first test of the fault-controlled thesis.

Common Questions from Investors

What does the Margarita skarn add to the story?

It introduces a new gold-rich horizon and confirms that the structural model can locate skarn bodies away from the main Cerro Grande area.

Why do skarns matter more than porphyries here?

They deliver higher grades even in shorter intercepts and account for much of the world's copper production.

Are more targets ready for testing?

Yes, ten structural intersections with matching magnetic signatures have already been identified along the corridor.

Have all assays from the first holes been released?

No, results for holes 004 through 009 are still pending.
