Sranan Gold Reports High-Grade Gold Assays at Lawatino's 101 Zone in Suriname

Sranan Gold Corp. (SRAN:CSE; SRANF:OTCQB; P84:FSE) reported additional high-grade gold assay results from ongoing trenching and channel sampling at the 101 Zone of its 18,468-hectare Lawatino Gold Project in southeastern Suriname. The latest results included a 3-meter interval grading 20.89 grams per tonne gold (g/t Au) from trench 26LACH-008, comprising three consecutive 1-meter channel samples grading 55.04 g/t Au, 3.96 g/t Au, and 3.66 g/t Au.

Additional grab samples collected from the same area returned gold assays of up to 57.58 g/t Au. Other recently collected samples from the 101 Zone returned grades of 4.62 g/t Au, 4.50 g/t Au, and 4.14 g/t Au. The company noted that rock-chip samples were selective in nature and might not represent average grades across the mineralized zone.

The 3-meter interval grading 20.89 g/t Au was located along a series of northwest-southeast trending shear zones associated with highly weathered saprolitic basalts intersected by sheeted quartz veins.

Earlier rock grab samples from the area returned assays of up to 101.5 g/t Au, as reported in the company's July 14, 2026, news release. The 101 Zone is situated within an area of extensive historical alluvial gold mining.

Additional channel sampling from trench 26LACH-008 returned 1 meter grading 0.09 g/t Au and 8 meters grading 0.08 g/t Au. The company cautioned that the reported channel intervals represented sampled lengths and that the orientation and geometry of the mineralized structures were not yet sufficiently understood to determine true widths.

Oscar Louzada, Chief Executive Officer of Sranan Gold, commented in the company news release: "Our latest channel and grab sampling results add to the growing picture of high-grade gold occurrences at the 101 Zone. Lawatino occupies an attractive position immediately west of Founders Metals' (OTCMKTS: FDMI) Antino Project along the same major regional structural corridor."

Louzada continued: "We believe that location, geology, together with the historical workings, the fracture-density model, and the results being generated by our field team, support our decision to acquire the property. The results warrant a disciplined and sustained exploration program, and we are very encouraged by the progress we are making."

The Lawatino Project is located immediately west of Founders Metals' Antino Gold Property along the Central Guiana Shear Zone (CGSZ), a regional structural corridor in southeastern Suriname. The same corridor is associated with mineralization at the Antino Project and Miata Metals Corp. (MMET:TSXV; MMETF:OTCQX; 8NQ:FSE) Sela Creek Project. The company cautioned that mineralization on nearby properties was not necessarily indicative of mineralization at Lawatino.

Sranan also reported findings from a property-scale fracture-density model generated by Auracle using its MUD SAR remote-sensing technology. The model identified zones of interpreted structural complexity across Lawatino and the surrounding district, illustrating a predominantly northwest-southeast regional structural fabric associated with the CGSZ. This orientation was similar to the trend of gold mineralization identified along the 101 and Bodoe Zones.

The company's geological crews continued excavating trenches and systematically sampling exposures at regular intervals between the 101 and Bodoe Zones. The work focused on defining the distribution, scale, and structural controls of gold mineralization along an approximately 1.5-kilometer trend extending between the two zones.

Exploration also continued across the broader 18,468-hectare property through geological mapping, surface sampling, evaluation of historical artisanal mining areas, and interpretation of the MUD SAR data. These activities were being used to identify and rank additional targets for follow-up sampling and trenching.

Samples were processed and assayed by Filab, an independent Bureau Veritas Certified Laboratory under ISO 9001:2015, in Paramaribo, Suriname. The company reported that no data quality problems were indicated by Filab's quality assurance and quality control program.

Gold Prices Weaken as Inflation and Interest Rate Concerns Persist

Gold prices declined on October 22 as rising energy costs and inflation concerns influenced expectations for U.S. interest rates. Trading Economics reported that bullion traded below US$4,100 per ounce, surrendering gains recorded during the previous session. The platform indicated that gold had declined 1.26% during the day and 4.61% over the preceding month.

According to Trading Economics, "Gold prices dropped below US$4,100 an ounce on Thursday," as renewed Middle East tensions contributed to rising oil prices and concerns about inflation. Although gold traditionally served as a hedge against inflation, the report noted that elevated interest rates reduced the relative attractiveness of holding an asset that provided no yield.

Attention also centered on the Federal Reserve's approaching monetary policy decision. Trading Economics reported that investors expected policymakers to maintain existing interest rates at their next meeting, while expectations of further tightening in December continued amid inflation concerns associated with energy prices.

An October 22 Reuters report said spot gold fell 2.4% to US$4,041.39 per ounce, its lowest level since August 3, while December U.S. gold futures settled 2.2% lower at US$4,060.40. Higher oil prices heightened inflation concerns and reinforced expectations that interest rates could remain elevated for longer. Reuters reported that traders assigned a 78% probability to a December rate increase, according to CME's FedWatch Tool.

Technical analyst Stewart Thomson assigned Sranan Gold a "Speculative Buy" rating in an August 5 analysis.1

Market expectations also pointed toward possible monetary tightening later in the year. According to Reuters, the CME FedWatch Tool indicated that traders assigned a 91% probability to an interest rate increase in December. Investors were also awaiting the October 29 release of U.S. Personal Consumption Expenditures data, another economic indicator relevant to Federal Reserve policy decisions.

The longer-term outlook for gold also reflected continued demand from central banks and institutional investors. According to the World Gold Council's June 16, 2026, Central Bank Gold Reserves Survey, 89% of reserve managers expected global central bank gold holdings to increase over the following 12 months, while a record 45% planned to increase their own institutions' reserves. Additionally, 83% of respondents anticipated that gold would represent a larger share of total central bank reserves within five years, compared with 76% in the previous year's survey.

In its second-quarter 2026 gold market outlook, the World Gold Council identified investment demand as the principal expected source of growth through the remainder of 2026. The organization stated that "Central banks remain on course for another strong year of net purchases," citing portfolio diversification and protection against inflation and financial risks. The report also noted that elevated gold prices supported mine production, although operational constraints and lengthy project development timelines limited how quickly supply could increase.

The World Gold Council's 2026 mid-year outlook further identified central bank purchases, long-term institutional investment, and geopolitical uncertainty as factors influencing gold's longer-term performance. The organization noted that sovereign wealth funds, pension funds, and endowments had increased their participation in the market. While higher interest rates and a stronger U.S. dollar remained potential headwinds, the Council concluded that continued demand from central banks and long-term investors could provide structural support for gold, even during periods of short-term price volatility.

Analyst Highlights Sranan's Valuation and Gold Exploration Results

1Technical analyst Stewart Thomson assigned Sranan Gold a "Speculative Buy" rating in an August 5 analysis, citing the company's experienced management team, high-grade exploration assay results, and what he considered an attractive stock valuation. Thomson established a short-term price target of CA$0.17, a medium-term target of CA$0.27, and a long-term target of CA$0.35.

Thomson also pointed to the company's location in Suriname as a factor in his assessment. "Located in the geologically prolific Guiana Shield (host to the Rosebel and Merian mines), the projects benefit from established mining infrastructure and a government actively seeking foreign investment," he wrote.

In discussing Sranan's exploration portfolio, Thomson characterized the Lawatino Gold Project as offering "low-cost, high-reward exploration upside." His assessment combined the company's exploration results and management experience with his views on its share price and the geological setting of its projects.

Exploration Plans Span Two Gold Projects and Multiple Drill Targets

Sranan Gold outlined exploration activities across its Lawatino and Tapanahony gold projects in its corporate presentation. The programs included geological mapping, surface sampling, trenching, remote sensing, and preparations for additional drilling.

At Lawatino, the company identified geological mapping, soil auger sampling, and sampling of exposed rock and trenches as components of its exploration program. These activities were intended to define mineralized zones and provide information for the selection of drill targets.

Initial reconnaissance sampling at Lawatino had identified two gold zones approximately 1.5 kilometers apart, associated with areas of historical alluvial mining. Of 43 reconnaissance samples collected, 11 returned grades exceeding 1 g/t Au, representing approximately 25% of the samples. Reported results included grades of 101.5 g/t Au and 15.7 g/t Au.

The company had mobilized a hydraulic shovel to excavate trenches across the newly identified zones and at 250-meter step-outs. Trenching and channel sampling were directed toward the 101 and Bodoe Zones, where geological crews were examining the distribution of gold mineralization.

The Lawatino exploration program also incorporated a fracture-density model developed using MUD SAR remote-sensing technology. The model mapped fracture density in potential host rocks and identified northwest-southeast structural features corresponding to the CGSZ. The presentation noted that areas of alluvial mining correlated with areas of high fracture density or locations downstream from them.

Additional planned work at Lawatino included remote sensing and airborne geophysics. The company also identified logistics and mobilization of drilling equipment and associated facilities as part of its preparations for diamond drilling.

In its October 22 news release, Sranan stated that it was working to define the orientation, distribution, and extent of mineralization through further trenching, mapping, and sampling. The company planned to use those results to advance high-priority targets toward a Phase I drill program in early 2027. Mobilization of drilling equipment was planned for early 2027, subject to exploration results, logistics, and other customary considerations.

At the company's separate 29,000-hectare Tapanahony Gold Project, diamond drilling began in August 2025. The exploration program focused on the Poeketi Shear Zone, a gold-bearing structure extending more than 4.5 kilometers between Randy's Pit and the Poeketi area. The presentation described mineralization hosted in quartz veins and sheared basalt formations, with historical and ongoing artisanal mining along the shear zone.

At Randy's Pit, the company had reported approximately 6,300 meters of drill assay results. Previous drilling included 64 meters grading 3.00 g/t Au in hole 25RADD-004, including 17 meters grading 10.5 g/t Au. Hole 25RADD-011 returned 11 meters grading 7.33 g/t Au, including 4 meters grading 14.59 g/t Au. These intervals represented downhole lengths rather than true widths.

The company's September 2026 presentation stated that drilling had traced gold mineralization over approximately 800 meters along the Poeketi Shear Zone at Randy's Pit. Mineralization remained open along strike and at depth. The company's exploration plan called for continued drilling to trace the mineralized shear zone north and south of Randy's Pit.

The presentation also reported that 10 additional drill holes had been completed at Randy's Pit, with assay results pending. Diamond drilling was continuing as part of the broader Tapanahony exploration program.

At Poeketi Pit, Sranan had mobilized a second drill rig in April 2026. 12 holes had been completed at the Poeketi Zone, with assays pending at the time of the presentation. Drilling was testing an approximately 1-kilometer mineralized corridor where artisanal miners extracted coarse gold from pits and shallow underground workings.

The company's exploration plan included 5,000 meters of drilling at Poeketi Pit. The program targeted mineralization hosted in silicified zones and quartz veins containing sulphides within sheared basalts.

Beyond Randy's Pit and Poeketi Pit, Sranan had identified additional exploration targets across Tapanahony using geological mapping, geochemical sampling, LiDAR surveys, historical exploration data, and airborne magnetic surveys. The presentation identified the Poeketi Extension and West Target among the areas selected for additional exploration.

The company planned to continue geological mapping, sampling, and trenching across these additional target areas during 2026. Field testing and ground verification were intended to prepare selected targets for drilling.

The presentation also identified new project reconnaissance as a separate component of Sranan's exploration activities, alongside the ongoing work at Lawatino and Tapanahony. No specific drilling quantities or timelines were provided for that reconnaissance program.
