On August 21, 2026, Krait Critical Minerals Corp. (KRIT; CSE) announced that it had received final approval from the Canadian Securities Exchange (CSE) for listing its common shares on the exchange. Trading has commenced today, August 24, 2026, under the symbol "KRIT".
"Receiving final approval to list on the CSE is a significant milestone for Krait and reflects the dedication of our team and supporters," said Oscar Mendoza, Krait's CEO. "The commencement of trading under the symbol KRIT will provide Krait with greater visibility, access to the public capital markets, and a strong platform from which to grow the company. We look forward to introducing Krait to the investment community and building long-term value for our shareholders."
A Canadian junior mineral exploration company, Krait is focused on acquiring and advancing prospective mineral properties in established North American mining jurisdictions, with its flagship asset being the Goldbar Spider Lake project in Ontario's Thunder Bay mining division. The 3,636-hectare property lies approximately 20 km (kilometers) east of Terrace Bay and 30 km west-northwest of Marathon.
The property comprises 148 mining claims and 171 claim units, with Krait having the option to earn an 100% interest in the project, subject to a 3% net smelter return royalty.
Gold May Be Resuming Rally
Junior miners and exploration companies hit the ground running this year after gold rallied to above US$5,500 per ounce in January. Many companies chose to begin exploration or production amid these highs. While prices have since fallen, and even dipped below US$4,000 in June, prices are still up 38% compared to August 2025, and Gold.org wrote that: "[T]he stage is set for a possible breakout. On the upside, clear catalysts — a worsening economy or renewed geopolitical shock, a shift towards lower interest-rate expectations, or a wave of dip buying — could reignite gold's momentum and lift it back towards US$4,500/oz or above." As of today, the market has surpassed that benchmark. More bullish still, JPMorgan set a year-end 2026 target of US$6,300 per ounce in February, citing sustained central bank and investor demand.
On August 24, 2026, gold was trading at US$4,650 per ounce — the highest the precious metal has reached since May — with Trading Economics writing that ". . . gold gained more than 5% last week after a U.S. Treasury buyback support plan pushed the dollar to multi-month lows. Markets are now focused on the July PCE price index due Wednesday and Warsh's speech at the Jackson Hole Symposium on Friday." Kevin Warsh is the chair of the Federal Reserve, and he is expected to offer comments on U.S. inflation data — and its potential effect on interest rates — later this week. "Traders are pricing in roughly a 40% chance of a rate hike in September, while the probability of rates remaining unchanged stands at around 60%," the article continued.
Internationally, geopolitical tensions continue to rise due to the war between the U.S. and Iran, with the U.S. government threatening "the greatest financial offensive ever marshalled" as an upcoming plan for sanctioning Iran's trade partners.
The metals sector as a whole is also showing signs of improvement. On May 7, 2026, Brian Taylor of Recycling Today said that the World Bank Group has projected that its metals and minerals price index will rise 17% in 2026.
