Silver North Resources Ltd. (SNAG:TSX.V; TARSF:OTCQB) is undertaking its largest drill program to date at its Haldane property in the Keno Hill district, building on previous drilling that Executive Chair Mark T. Brown said has encountered high-grade silver, lead and zinc, along with smaller amounts of gold, in about 80% of the company's holes.
In an August 17 interview with Streetwise Reports, Brown outlined an investment case centered on the grades encountered in previous drilling, continued expansion around the Main Fault, testing of additional targets and the property's proximity to Hecla's operating Keno Hill mine. He also pointed to a series of upcoming drill results that he expects to begin around the end of September.
High-Grade Silver Anchors the Investment Case
Brown said Silver North's previous drilling has regularly returned silver grades above 1,000 grams per ton over varying sample widths.
"We've been drilling high-grade silver, with lead, zinc, and a little bit of gold, and we've hit on about 80% of our holes," Brown said. "And this year we're having our biggest drill program ever."
Brown cautioned that the approximately 80% historical hit rate should not be assumed for the current program because Silver North is completing larger step-outs and drilling new areas. Around the Main Fault, however, he said the company has previously encountered mineralization in a substantial portion of its drilling.
One result Brown highlighted was an approximately 13-meter interval grading about 800 grams per ton silver along with additional elements. He said the significance of individual step-outs can be difficult to convey because the company's objective is to extend areas of high-grade mineralization.
"We've hit a little core of high-grade silver," Brown said. "Every 50-meter step-out hole, it doesn't seem like very much, but it adds a lot more ounces because these things are so high grade."
Brown also noted that some of the individual silver grades discussed by the company represent silver alone, with gold, lead and zinc occurring in addition to the reported silver. Silver North also publishes equivalent grades that incorporate additional metals.
Another part of the case Brown outlined is the potential for multiple zones of mineralization across the property. He said the company's goal is to identify multiple silver veins, which elsewherein the Keno Hill Silver District, historically average 20 million to 40 million ounces of silver. Brown said Silver North believes the vein it has been drilling could fall somewhere within that range, although no resource estimate for that target was provided in the interview.
"If we can get two or three or more of those and get over 100 million ounces of potential silver resource in the ground, that's pretty attractive to other major silver companies," Brown said.
That remains a company objective rather than an established resource, and the current drilling is intended in part to determine what additional mineralization is present.
Silver North's location is another element Brown highlighted. Hecla operates the neighboring Keno Hill mine, and Brown said Hecla representatives have visited Silver North multiple times in the past.
Brown said Hecla's technical team has also been very gracious with Silver North in discussing its experience exploring the . A good example of this, according to Brown, is Hecla advised the company that a narrow, lower grade mineralized intercept can establish the presence of a productive fault and that continued drilling along the structure could potentially encounter wider intervals.
"Just keep drilling along that fault, and there’s a chance you'll hit a wide intercept. Once you are onto a productive vein/fault, they can change in width and tenor of mineralization very quickly into target with economic potential," Brown said, recounting the guidance Silver North received from Hecla.
Brown also said the distance from Silver North's ground to Keno Hill is approximately 10 kilometers by the route he described during the interview.
Largest Drill Program to Date Tests New Ground
Silver North is currently carrying out its largest drill program to date, with work focused both on the Main Fault and additional areas of the property.
At the Main Fault, Brown said the company has been completing 50-meter step-out holes. Silver North has also drilled a roughly 350-meter step-out along strike to the southwest to test whether the mineralized structure continues farther from the established drilling.
The company is also drilling at Bighorn. Brown said one hole completed there in 2019 encountered four intervals of lower-grade silver but was not followed up at the time. Silver North now plans to complete three or four holes in that area during the current program.
"We drilled one hole in there in 2019, and never followed up on it," Brown said. "But we hit four intercepts of low-grade silver, and so again, the Hecla guys told us to follow up on those results, so we're going to do three or four holes there this year."
Drill Results Expected Around the End of September
The most immediate catalyst Brown identified is the release of results from the ongoing drill program.
Asked during the Streetwise Reports interview when investors could expect the next results, Brown initially said the end of September before describing the expected timing as exceeding four weeks. He said additional drill results are expected after the first release as results from the broader program become available.
"The drill results are the key to all of this," Brown said.
Those results will include drilling around the Main Fault as Silver North tests extensions to previously encountered mineralization, along with drilling in less-tested portions of the property.
Bighorn provides another specific area to watch. The planned three or four holes will follow up on the four lower-grade silver intercepts Brown said were encountered in the single 2019 hole.
The larger program is expected to continue generating results beyond the initial assays. Brown said Silver North expects news from the drilling to continue through the remainder of the year.
"This is our largest drill program ever this year, and it's the largest one because we've had success in the past, and we're building on that," Brown said. "And so we should have, you know, a steady news flow right till the end of the year."
Analysts Highlight Haldane Drilling, Funding, and Exploration Catalysts
1John Newell of John Newell & Associates focused on Silver North's position in the Keno Hill Silver District in a February 23 report, including work at the Main Fault target. He wrote that "the Main Fault is showing the scale and complexity needed to host high-grade mineralization, and they are still early in revealing its potential."
Newell also highlighted Silver North's financing position following completion of a brokered financing, which he said: "effectively funds the next two years of exploration." He maintained a "Speculative Buy" recommendation and wrote that the company had "shifted from 'prove it' mode into 'expand it' mode." His technical analysis identified a "big picture target at CA$1.05."
Michael Ballanger of GGM Advisory Inc. turned to the Haldane program in an April 28 report following completion of the SkyTEM312 airborne survey. He wrote that "most of their 2026 activity will be focused on Haldane." Ballanger also discussed the history of the Keno Hill Silver District, describing it as "the site of the legendary United Keno Hill Mines epic move from CA$0.60 to CA$60 back in the late 1970's."
Peter Krauth of The Silver Advisor discussed the newly launched Haldane drilling program in a June 17 report. He noted that two rigs were expected to operate through the summer and into the fourth quarter, with work focused on expanding the Main Zone and testing targets generated through fieldwork and the SkyTEM survey.
Krauth highlighted HLD25-31, which returned 13.15 meters grading 818 g/t silver along with gold, lead and zinc. He also noted that the second rig was expected to evaluate Bighorn and other targets while field crews conducted mapping and ground-truthing work. Silver North expected to complete between 5,000 and 7,000 meters of drilling before the program concluded in October, according to Krauth. He disclosed that he owned shares and described Silver North as "a higher-risk play as it's still early," adding that "results so far are quite bullish."
Richard Mills of Ahead of the Herd provided a broader assessment of Silver North's exploration portfolio in a June 24 report. Mills noted that two diamond drill rigs were operating at Haldane, with up to 7,000 meters of drilling expected by October as part of a two-year program funded for between 10,000 and 14,000 meters.
Mills described the Main Fault as the third discovery Silver North had made at Haldane and highlighted the 2025 drilling that preceded the larger 2026 campaign. Discussing HLD25-31, he wrote that the main fault was "a large chunk of mineralization that appears to coalesce from a wide zone with multiple veins into a narrower (albeit still 13 meters wide in hole HLD25-31) higher grade zone that, interestingly, also has gold with it."
Mills also focused on the silver contribution to the Haldane mineralization. "The high silver grades indicate that Haldane is a primary silver play," he wrote, noting that silver represented 81% of the value in HLD25-31, compared with 12% gold, 5% lead, and 2% zinc.
He identified expansion of the Main Zone and testing of known and newly generated targets as the two objectives of the 2026 drilling program. Mills noted that one rig was expected to move from the Main Zone to targets including Bighorn, while targets generated through surface fieldwork and the completed SkyTEM survey were also being evaluated.
Beyond Haldane, Mills discussed the Tim and Veronica properties. He noted that Silver North had regained 100% ownership of Tim following termination of an option agreement as of May 24. At Veronica, he highlighted the airborne magnetics and VTEM geophysical program and the company's work integrating information from Veronica with the adjacent Tim dataset.
"The company's success at the drill bit is certainly impressive," Mills wrote. He pointed to three Keno-style silver vein discoveries made in 24 holes and identified Haldane drill results, data from the completed Haldane geophysical survey, and the Veronica geophysical program among the company's shorter-term exploration catalysts.
