Bob Moriarty Bob Moriarty of 321gold.com shares his thoughts on Westward Gold Inc. (WG:CSE; WGLIF:OTC; IM50:FSE) after its recent assay results.

Westward Gold Inc. (WG:CSE; WGLIF:OTC; IM50:FSE) recently unveiled its most significant gold assays to date. The firm is searching for another Carlin-type deposit in a Nevada region encircled by massive deposits such as Cortez Hills, situated 10 km away and containing 5.5 million ounces of gold. The Cortez Mine complex in its entirety boasts a gold endowment of roughly 60 million ounces. This complex comprises Cortez Hills, Pipeline, and the Crossroads open-pit gold mines.

The assays, unveiled on August 4, 2026, showed surface trenching results of 13.4 meters at 6.55 g/t gold within 34.8 meters at 2.84 g/t Au. While slightly below the coveted 100 gram/meters mark, Carlin-type deposits typically range from 1.8 g/t to about 2.5 g/t gold. This press release represents a monumental achievement for the company. Westward Gold has already completed two shallow core holes adjacent to the trenching area, with assays forthcoming.

I initially discussed Westward in January. A portion of what I wrote then remains relevant, so I am including it here.

Their Toiyabe Hills project lies approximately 10 km from Cortez Hills. This deposit is part of Barrick Mining Corp.'s (ABX:TSX; B:NYSE) Cortez gold mine, which yields around one million ounces of gold annually, equivalent to over $4 billion in gross revenue. In 1991, while Placer Dome operated the JV, it discovered the Pipeline deposit when drilling a condemnation hole. They replicated this success in 2002 with the discovery of the Cortez Hills property, again while drilling a condemnation hole. Curiously, drilling beneath a leach pad before filling it with ore is considerably more cost-effective. In 2004, Placer followed up at Cortez Hills by uncovering a significant gold structural corridor that tested at 45 g/t gold over 400 feet. Westward Gold is drilling a mere six miles from Cortez Hills.

Westward Gold's team consists of some of the world's foremost experts in Nevada Carlin-type deposits. They remain steadfast in their belief that they are on the cusp of a major discovery.

I now believe they have made that colossal discovery, and with more drill results imminent, I think the market will recognize it.

At Friday's close, the company's valuation was approximately CA$32 million. A 100-gram/meter hole would likely propel it ten to fifteen times higher within six months. From a mathematical psychology standpoint, the stock offers excellent value. It will either plummet to zero or soar significantly higher. They are in elephant country, and this will not be a small discovery.

Westward Gold is employing one core drill rig, with a pair of holes completed beneath the trench and assays pending shortly. The 2026 drill program envisions a total of 10,000 meters of drilling. An RC rig just arrived, with a second one expected this month or early September. Some holes will extend 900-1000 meters, and many will reach 250-500 meters, for an anticipated total of 15-20 holes. As of March 31st, the company had just over CA$4 million in cash, fully funding this drill program.

Westward Gold is an advertiser, and I own shares, so naturally, I am biased. Conduct your own due diligence.
