Sranan Gold Corp. (SRAN:CSE; SRANF:OTCQB; P84:FSE) reported initial high-grade assays from Lawatino and discussed ongoing trenching and exploration plans during a meeting with Streetwise Reports.

Sranan Gold Corp. (SRAN:CSE; SRANF:OTCQB; P84:FSE) reported high-grade gold assay results from the first batch of samples collected during the phase I reconnaissance program at its Lawatino property in Suriname. The company said the initial batch of 43 assays included 11 samples grading greater than 1 gram per tonne (g/t) gold, including a mineralized quartz vein sample that returned 101.5 g/t gold.

According to the company, the samples grading above 1 g/t gold were collected from two areas of historical artisanal surface mining known as the 101 and Bodoe zones. The zones are located approximately 1.5 kilometers apart along a northwest-southeast trend, situated subparallel to the Central Guiana Shear Zone (CGSZ). The Lawatino concession sits adjacent to Founders Metals' Antino Gold Project, and the CGSZ that trends across Lawatino is the same deep-seated regional structure that controls mineralization at Antino and at Miata Metals' Sela Creek Project — a link Sranan's recently completed fracture density model reinforces, mapping zones of structural complexity along that shear zone and defining several high-priority targets on the same geophysical signature that has driven its neighbor's discoveries. The company said the area between the two zones has not yet been sampled.

Sranan stated that the first batch of results also included four samples grading between 0.17 g/t and 0.24 g/t gold. Initial sampling focused on easily accessible areas of historic artisanal mining, with rock and saprolite collected as representative grab samples from in-situ outcrops or weathered surfaces. Quartz vein material that could not be confirmed as in-situ was classified as float.

Oscar Louzada, chief executive officer of Sranan Gold, said in a company news release: "In less than a month after mobilizing our geological team, initial sampling has identified two showings of high-grade gold mineralization supporting our view that the Lawatino property has the potential to host significant gold mineralization."

The company said samples are collected by Sranan geologists, recorded digitally using the Bedrock application, and processed at the Filab preparation facility in Paramaribo, Suriname. Filab, which the company identified as a Bureau Veritas certified laboratory under ISO 9001:2015 and independent of Sranan, performs the assays using a 50-gram fire assay with an Atomic Absorption finish. Samples exceeding 2 g/t gold and those containing visible gold are re-assayed using a gravimetric finish. Sranan said it relied on standards inserted by Filab during the reconnaissance program and reported that no data quality issues were identified by Filab's QA/QC program.

Management Details Next Steps at Lawatino and Tapanahony

In a call with Streetwise Reports, Sranan Gold Chief Executive Officer Oscar Louzada said the company had completed the first trench between the 101 and Bodoe zones at Lawatino. The trench was expected to be sent to the laboratory later that week.

"We finished the first trench yesterday," Louzada said. "In between the 101 zone and the Bodoe zone, we're now trenching to hopefully generate some drill targets in the next couple of months."

Louzada said the company was examining a trend extending approximately two kilometers and was also looking for parallel trends. He said the results from the trenching program would help determine whether the initial exploration campaign focused on the Bodoe zone or the 101 zone.

Rayiez Bhoelan, Sranan Gold's vice president of exploration, joined the meeting after returning from fieldwork at the company's Poeketi area. Discussing the initial trench at Lawatino, he said it had encountered vein material similar to material observed during previous sampling.

"We've hit some of these smoky veins that we've seen last year when we had the high-grade grab samples," Bhoelan said. "Same type of vein material, same structures."

Bhoelan said the first trench would be submitted to the laboratory later that week. When asked about the expected frequency of Lawatino updates, he said the company anticipated providing news approximately every four weeks as work progressed.

The company also discussed continued work at its Tapanahony Gold Project, where drilling has focused on the Randy's Pit and Poeketi Pit areas. Louzada said Sranan had identified more than 800 meters of continuous mineralization on one side of the river and was conducting groundwork along an extension of Randy's Pit on the other side.

Bhoelan said the company's early drilling had concentrated on known areas supported by previous exploration and artisanal mining. Field teams were also moving farther from those areas and using reconnaissance and sampling methods to prepare additional targets for drilling.

"When you step out more distally, you start using more recon techniques, sampling techniques that would prepare eventual targets for drilling, just to de-risk all these areas because it's a big zone," Bhoelan explained.

Louzada said Sranan's two Suriname properties covered approximately 47,000 hectares. He added that large portions of Tapanahony had not yet been examined, including areas extending approximately 12 kilometers beyond the locations where the company initially began drilling.

The company said the village of Poeketi was involved in day-to-day operations at Tapanahony. Louzada said approximately 12 people from the community of about 70 residents worked with the company in camp operations, drilling support, geological training, line cutting and fieldwork. Local boat operators were also used to transport heavy equipment to the property, while perishable supplies were delivered using the airstrip at the site.

"All the geologists currently that work for us have or are Surinamese," Louzada said. He said the company relies on local geologists because they have studied the distinctive geology of the Guiana Shield. Louzada added that Sranan's two Suriname properties cover approximately 47,000 hectares and that exploration has so far focused on only a portion of that land package, with additional work continuing beyond the company's initial drilling areas.

Gold Market Remains in Focus

Gold traded at a spot ask price of US$4,036.34 per ounce as of 6:28 a.m. EDT on July 20. The precious metals data provider also reported gold at US$129.77 per gram and US$129,771.18 per kilogram, noting that the gold spot price "can fluctuate by the second, driven by investment supply and demand, and other factors."

Reuters reported on July 20 that gold prices remained steady as market participants assessed developments in the U.S.-Iran conflict alongside signals from U.S. Federal Reserve policymakers regarding interest rates. Spot gold was little changed at US$4,018.75 per ounce, while U.S. gold futures for August delivery gained 0.1% to US$4,023.20.

According to Reuters, UBS analyst Giovanni Staunovo said, "Gold remains negatively correlated to oil prices, with market participants closely tracking developments in the Middle East." Reuters also reported that elevated oil prices had increased inflation concerns and contributed to expectations that interest rates could remain higher for longer, while traders had priced in an 80% chance of a December interest rate hike, according to the CME FedWatch tool.

Kitco News wrote on July 17 that gold ended the week lower while attempting to hold support at US$4,000 per ounce, with spot gold last trading at US$4,017.30 per ounce, down 2.5% for the week. The publication reported that analysts had pointed to easing inflation data while also noting that renewed geopolitical tensions and higher oil prices continued to influence the market.

Chris Gaffney, President of World Markets at EverBank, told Kitco News, "The US$4,000 price level is a major psychological price point for individual investors," adding that "the key data is going to be the US inflation numbers."

Kitco also reported comments from Neil Welsh, Head of Metals at Britannia Global Markets, who said, "If energy prices sustain their climb, the resulting inflationary pressure may force the Fed to maintain a higher-for-longer rate environment."

Simon-Peter Massabni, Head of Business Development at XS.com, told Kitco News that, "Gold continues to benefit from important structural drivers, most notably ongoing purchases by global central banks, elevated geopolitical uncertainty, and the growing need for protection against sovereign risks and long-term inflation."

Massabni also told Kitco News, "I believe the market may have already priced in an overly negative short-term scenario." He added that "the key question is not whether gold's bullish trend has ended, but rather how much of the current negative news has already been absorbed by the market."

Exploration Activities Continue at Lawatino and Tapanahony

Sranan said an excavator is expected to be mobilized to the Lawatino property over the next few weeks to expose the extent of gold mineralization at the 101 and Bodoe zones and to cut regularly spaced trenches along the approximately 1.5-kilometer trend between the two zones.

The company noted that it has only recently begun examining the 18,468-hectare Lawatino property. According to the company, geological and prospecting crews mobilized to the property in late May 2026, where geological mapping, trenching, and soil sampling programs commenced. Sranan also said a recently completed fracture density model confirmed structural complexity and identified several high-priority targets.
