Nevada Organic Phosphate Inc. (NOP:CSE; NOPFF:OTCQB) drills 15.3m of Meade Peak phosphorite at Murdock Mountain as the global phosphate fertilizer market eyes US$127B by 2034.

Nevada Organic Phosphate Inc. (NOP:CSE; NOPFF:OTCQB) announced preliminary results from Hole MM26-8 at its wholly owned Murdock Mountain property in Elko County, Nevada, on June 2, 2026. The exploration target is the Upper Phosphatic Zone (a 3.4-7.6-meter interval) within the Meade Peak Member, which typically comprises 28-40 meters of phosphatic siltstone and phosphorite.

Preliminary observations of drill hole MM26-8 intersected approximately 15.3 meters of the Meade Peak unit. The hole was drilled vertically up to 128 meters deep and is positioned roughly 100 meters north and upslope from fall 2025's campaign at MM25-4 and MM25-5.

Drill hole 9 has been collared and is located approximately 100 meters north and upslope from MM25-6, which was also tested last fall. NOP noted that the drill crew is undertaking a mandatory rest period and will continue drilling soon.

The company will release laboratory results as they become available.

NOP is a Canadian junior exploration company with an organic sedimentary raw rock phosphate bed, 6.6 kilometers long, in northeast Nevada.

Phosphate Sector Continuing to Grow

Organic phosphates are common ingredients in pesticides and fertilizers, as well as finding uses in pharmaceuticals and as flame retardants in some industrial applications. Phosphate is a chemical required for proper plant growth and is a critical component for creating phosphorus-rich soil nutrients, growing global food demand, and fertilizer tech advancements aimed at improving crop yields.

In 2025, the global phosphatic fertilizers market was valued at US$62.64 billion, according to a May 25, 2026, article by Fortune Business Insights. The article went on to say that the market is projected to grow to US$127.01 billion by 2034. In the US alone, the market is expected to hit US$8.47 billion by 2032. According to Fortune, "North America led the phosphatic fertilizers market with a 12.11% share in 2025 and continues to see growth due to advanced fertilizer technologies and rising crop nutrient needs."

The U.S.A. contains the largest agriculture sector in the world in terms of size, according to a May 14, 2026, report by Strategy & Stats Insider. The article said, "The use of phosphate-based fertilizers by the farmers is mainly on corn, soybean, and wheat crops, which are some of the crops that require high amounts of phosphate in the world."

Climate change is creating conditions that require more efficient phosphate fertilizer use. According to S&S Insider, "Drought conditions, changing rainfall patterns, and more frequent extreme weather events are making precision nutrient management more important. Farmers who apply the right amount of phosphate at the right time and place get better returns and also protect water quality by reducing runoff."

The war between the U.S. and Iran is also exacerbating the issue caused by the climate crisis due to "Tehran's near shutdown of the Strait of Hormuz in retaliation for U.S. and Israeli bombing." A March 30, 2026, article by The Guardian claimed, "The fertilizer shortage is putting the livelihood of farmers in developing countries — already troubled by rising temperatures and erratic weather systems — further at risk, and could lead to people everywhere paying more for food."

Analyst Sees "Favorable Chemistry"

A May 21, 2026, research report by Tim Wright for Couloir Capital rated NOP as a "Buy", with a fair value price of CA$0.64. Wright noted a "positive outlook" due to an experienced management team and the structural advantage of low-impurity rock at Murdock Mountain.

Regarding resource potential, Wright wrote: "The exploration target mineral inventory (ETMI) over the 3,166.3 ha project area is estimated at 200-220 million tons grading 3-15% P2O5. Initial drill results have returned grades exceeding 10% P2O5 and exhibit favorable chemistry."

Next Steps for NOP

According to the company's website, "A NI-43-101 Resource Estimate may be generated by the company sometime by early to mid 2026. If all goes well, a sizeable resource estimate could provide the company with the impetus to draw up resource extraction plans and issue a Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) soon thereafter."
