Emperor Metals Inc. (EMAUF:OTCQB; AUOZ:CSE; 9NH:FRA) delivers high-grade gold intercepts up to 3.1 g/t Au over 35.9m, supporting a multi-million-ounce deposit in Quebec.

On June 2, 2026, Emperor Metals Inc. (EMAUF:OTCQB; AUOZ:CSE; 9NH:FRA) reported on the progress of its 2026 exploration campaign at the Duquesne West project located in the Abitibi Greenstone Belt in Quebec, Canada. This campaign integrated 15,000 meters of new drilling with 8,000 meters of target resampling of historical cores.

Highlights of the report include:

  • Broad high-grade bulk-tonnage gold intercepts continue to demonstrate the project's ability to rapidly add ounces in support of the company's vision of advancing toward a multi-million-ounce gold deposit in the Main Pit, highlighted by 35.9 meters grading 3.1 g/t Au (gold). These holes are represented by drill holes DQ26-03, 04, and 45.
  • Ongoing drilling continues to expand the deposit footprint eastward, with encouraging mineralized intercepts encountered in holes DQ26-05, 06, 07, and 08.
  • Phase 1 pit infill drilling is targeting near-surface mineralization that could support a staged development approach, potentially accelerate future project development timelines, and enhance overall project economics. This is represented by holes DQ26-11, 12, 13, 17, 33, 34, and 35.

"These results further demonstrate the continued success of Emperor Metal's strategy to systematically expand the footprint of the deposit and increase ounces utilizing our proprietary AI-driven evaluation techniques. The consistency of gold mineralization encountered in every drill hole reinforces our confidence in the scale and continuity of the system, supporting our vision of advancing the project as a significant gold deposit," said Emperor Metals CEO John Florek. "Strong cost discipline and efficient drilling performance have also allowed the company to extend the program beyond the originally planned 15,000 meters, maximizing capital deployed directly into the ground."

The released results represent only 16 of the 47 holes drilled so far, only about 20% of the total assays expected by the end of the 2026 exploration season. The company looks forward to releasing further results as they become available, saying, "As we continue to expand the deposit footprint along strike and at depth, we are also enhancing the opportunity within the existing mineralized envelope by demonstrating increased thickness and grade. By systematically targeting the key structural controls of the deposit, we continue to build ounces and unlock additional growth potential across the project."

Emperor Metals is a Canadian junior gold exploration and development mining company focused on Quebec's historically proven Southern Abitibi greenstone belt.

Gold Stays Bullish Despite Volatility

Gold remains a safe haven asset but is still vulnerable to fears of inflation and geopolitical uncertainties, as was evidenced by its drop in price after the U.S. and Iran exchanged fire on June 3, 2026. Spot gold hit a low of US$4,451.70 per ounce after oil prices shot up when U.S. military forces disabled an Iranian tanker, and Iran launched missiles at U.S. bases in Bahrain and Kuwait.

Still, most investors aren't too worried. Gold surged to a record high earlier in the year, hitting a high of US$5,000 per ounce in January, and many expect the rally to resume once international conflict cools down. In April, S&P Global wrote, "Gold is expected to remain volatile but structurally supported, with central bank demand and geopolitical risk helping to establish a price floor above recent correction lows."

Despite the volatility of gold, the sector as a whole is only showing signs of improvement. On May 7, 2026, Brian Taylor of Recycling Today said that the World Bank Group has predicted that overall global metals prices will rise by 17% in 2026, which would mark the first overall market increase since 2022.

Analyst Holds Long Position on "Strong Buy" Stock

On June 2, 2026, Jeff Valks, senior analyst at The Gold Advisor, commented on the results: "The useful part is where the hole sits. DQ26-45 was drilled about 75–80 meters down-dip of Kinross Gold Corp.'s (K:TSX; KGC:NYSE) 2002 hole DQ02-10, which hit 4.9 g/t gold over 13.4 meters. Emperor’s new hole returned roughly three times the mineralized thickness. That helps the company argue this is not a lonely high-grade pocket. It is finding thicker mineralization where the plan says the system should keep going."
