Kirkland Lake Discoveries Corp. (KLDC:TSXV; KLKLF:OTC) reports broad 121m gold zone in Ontario with high-grade intervals, awaiting eight more drill results.

On April 23, 2026, Kirkland Lake Discoveries Corp. (KLDC:TSXV; KLKLF:OTC) released assay results for its continuing 2026 drilling program at the Mirado property. The property is a historical producer and is located approximately 20 kilometers southeast of Kirkland Lake, Ontario.

Results for KLM26-002 have been announced, with results for an additional eight holes pending. Highlighted findings include:

  • 1.01 grams per tonne gold over 121 meters from 11 m to 132 m, including:
    • 4.61 g/t Au (gold) over 3.2 m from 15.2 m
    • 3.63 g/t Au over 12.8 m from 69.7 m
  • Including 7.41 g/t Au over 4.8 m from 74.2 m
  • 75-meter stepout from hole KLM26-001
  • Broad zone of continuous mineralization
  • 732-meter hole tests Induced Polarization (IP) anomaly

Leadership within the company is eager to receive further results. CEO Stefan Sklepowicz said in the release, "We are continuing to see broad mineralization within our second hole at the South zone of Mirado. These results reinforce our geological model and show the robust nature of this system. Our team continues to execute this drill program with efficiency and we highly anticipate the results from the remaining eight holes."

Further, Executive Chairman, Denis Laviolette, said, "With highly anticipated results still coming, the assay histogram shows the story here. This is an extremely large, prolific system of widespread gold. This is a rarity in the Abitibi, and, with today's metal prices, this presents a compelling reframing of the deposit scale and economic viability of this project."

Kirkland Lake Discoveries Corp. is focused on gold exploration in the Abitibi greenstone belt in Ontario, Canada, one of the most prolific mining districts in the world.

Gold Sitting Steady

In an episode of the Sprott Radio podcast on April 23, 2026, Adam Rozencwajg, CFA and management partner of Goehring & Rozencwajg, called gold's recent rally structural, saying ". . . Central bank demand accelerated following Russia's invasion of Ukraine, while Western investor participation has only recently begun."

An early morning article by Ernest Hoffman at Kitco on April 23 reported that, "Gold prices shot to fresh session highs in the wake of the 10 am EST data release, with spot gold last trading at US$4,725.21 per ounce for a gain of 0.69% on the day."

On the same day, Jim Wyckoff discussed gold's performance in relation to the current geopolitical climate, noting that trade rates have remained stable despite unrest between the U.S. and Iran. In terms of futures, Wyckoff wrote that, "June gold was last up US$1.60 at US$4,725.00," a very moderate gain.

Fears of lasting inflation and high oil prices have kept gold from climbing higher, with Wyckoff reporting, "President Trump ordered the U.S. Navy to shoot any boat putting mines in the Strait of Hormuz, after the military intercepted two oil supertankers that tried to evade restrictions on traffic to and from Iran's ports. The move by Trump, who claimed Iran is laying sea mines in the strait, is part of the White House's attempt to cut off the country's oil exports, squeezing it economically and forcing it to make concessions that will help end the war."

Gold continues as a safe-haven asset despite investors' nerves over inflation hikes.

Expert Says Results Are 'Great'

On April 24, Bob Moriarty of 321Gold.com told Streetwise Reports, "Kirkland Lake Discoveries' shares exploded higher a little over a week ago when the company announced a home run on their very first hole. The shares shot higher when KLDC announced hole KLM26-001 with 1.10 g/t gold over 15.1 meters, 5.66 g/t gold over 18.2 meters, and 3.30 g/tau over 18.7 meters."

MMoriaty continued, "The second interval reported for hole 001 gave a gram/meter of over 103. Anything over 100 is a great hole. As a result, the shares went from CA$0.195 on April 15 to a high of CA$0.63 on April 23 for a 220% higher move."
