Tiger Gold Corp. (TIGR:TSXV) released assay results for two of three holes drilled in its initial exploration program at Dos Quebradas. This drilling program is part of Tiger Gold's 20,000-meter program at its Quinchía Gold Project in Colombia's prolific Mid-Cauca gold belt. Further assays are pending from Quebradas, Tesorito, and Ceibal. The released results pertain to drillholes QDQDH-25 and QDQDH-27, with QDQDH-26 still pending.
Assay highlights include:
- QDQDH-27 returned 282.45 m @ 0.6 g/t Au (gold) from 18 m downhole, including:
- 32 m @ 1.3 g/t Au, and
- 21.23 m @ 1.6 g/t Au.
- QDQDH-25 returned multiple gold intervals across a 631.1 m hole.
- QDQDH-26 intersected mineralized breccia on the same section line as QDQDH-27.
- Assays pending for QDQDH-26 and for additional holes at Tesorito and Ceibal.
- Dos Quebradas has a historical Inferred Mineral Resource Estimate of 459,000 oz Au (20.2 Mt at 0.71 g/t Au) reported under the 2012 JORC Code.
Results for QDQDH-27 show 282.45 m grading 0.6 g/t Au from 18 m downhole and ended in mineralization, including 1.3 g/t Au over 32 m and 1.6 g/t Au over 21.23 m up to a depth of 300.45 m. Elevated copper and molybdenum were present throughout.
Results for QDQDH-25 returned several intervals. Drilled to a depth of 631.1 meters, the strongest interval showed ". . . 60 m grading 0.3 g/t Au from 28 m, hosted within tuffs and inter-mineral magmatic breccia. . . " along with ". . . 46 m grading 0.3 g/t Au from 109 m within the broader breccia complex. Geological logging records a long section of inter-mineral magmatic breccia from approximately 99 m to 303 m, with additional intervals of 20.8 m grading 0.2 g/t Au from 284 m and 20.42 m grading 0.3 g/t Au from 315 m intersected within and below this zone." The company noted that, in the deeper part of the hole, 52 m grading 0.2 g/t Au from 388 m was intersected, with late diorite and additional breccia phases encountered at depth.
Robert Vallis, President & CEO of Tiger Gold, said in the release, "QDQDH-27 is an encouraging result from our initial drill program at Dos Quebradas — 282 metres of mineralization grading 0.6 g/t gold, including 1.3 g/t Au over 32 and 1.6 g/t Au over 21 m. While we wait for assays from QDQDH-26, which is on the same section line as QDQDH-27, we are updating our model and planning the next phase of drilling at Dos Quebradas with the goal of defining a current Mineral Resource, alongside our ongoing programs at Tesorito and Ceibal."
Tiger Gold is a gold exploration and mine development company headquartered in Vancouver, BC, Canada, and is focused on projects in the proven Mid-Cauca belt in Colombia.
Gold Remains a Safe-Haven Metal
Wednesday's metals market got off to a steady start. Jim Wyckoff wrote for Kitco on April 22, 2026, "Gold and silver prices are higher near midday Wednesday but off their daily highs. Buying interest in the precious metals is supported by firmer crude oil prices. U.S. Treasury yields have also down-ticked a bit at mid-week. Perceived bargain hunting after Tuesday's losses is also featured in both precious metals markets. June gold was last up US$35.10 at US$4,753.30." Wyckoff then gave the current market a slightly above mid-tier rating.
Tensions in the Middle East have been flaring for weeks now, leading to uncertainty in the metals markets. Despite some wavering, gold has maintained its appeal as a safe-haven asset. On April 22, Ernest Hoffman also wrote for Kitco, noting that Swiss gold exports rose 30% in March. Hoffman quoted Nina-Alessa Michel, policy advisor for regulation and economics at the Swiss Bankers Association, as saying, "Against a backdrop of geopolitical and economic tensions and rising government debt, demand for safe investments is increasing. Despite its role as a safe haven, however, gold has been proving rather more volatile than we might expect. Its price has recently undergone massive swings in various market phases, such as falling by 14% in the space of three days when Donald Trump nominated the next Chairman of the U.S. Federal Reserve, also placing assets like silver and Bitcoin under pressure."
Michel went on to argue that, "Movements like this clearly show that gold isn't always the safest of havens and can in fact react sensitively to geopolitical and monetary policy shifts. Geopolitical developments act as a strong catalyst for gold demand. Analyses have demonstrated that investors increasingly seek out safe havens while global capital markets are beset by fragmentation, conflicts, and changing balances of power."
Trump announced an indefinite ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran after it was set to expire on April 21, 2026. After eight weeks of war, gold's volatility may be settling. A Bloomberg article by Yihui Xie, Jack Ryan, and Yvonne Yue Li on April 22 suggested that gold has moved from a speculative market to a more fundamental market, with the hope that this shift will steady prices.
Experts Buying into Tiger Gold
According to FactSet on April 15, 2026, SCP Equity Research analyst Brandon Gaspar gave Tiger Gold a 'Buy' rating with a CA$2.60 target price.
Jeff Valks and Jeff Clark wrote about Tiger Gold on April 21 for The Gold Advisor, rating the stock a 'Buy' and calling the company "new on the scene, but the early numbers coming out of Quinchía look strong, with sharp management guiding the way." Valks holds a long position on the stock, while Clark holds a full weighting.
On April 22, Bob Moriarty discussed the company's most recent release for 321Gold.com. He wrote, "Tiger Gold has everything. The company paid about US$5 an ounce for gold and is paying that over time. It's an advanced stage project with a PEA and plans for a PFS a year from now. Management is experienced and determined to become Colombia's newest gold mine. The price of gold today demands action, and with US$19 million in the bank, management can deliver."
Moriarty then disclosed, "Tiger is an advertiser. I participated in the PP in a small way, but I have added to my position in a much bigger way with the news they are releasing. Of course, I am biased, so do your own due diligence. If you can invest in management of this caliber and get gold for US$18.50 an ounce, you don't even need me to tell you it is cheap."
Mineral Resource Estimate on the Horizon
Tiger Gold's investor presentation lists upcoming catalysts, such as beginning the Phase 1 drilling program, updating the mineral resources estimate, and gathering ESG initiatives and consultation.
The next phase will be to launch the Phase 2 drill programs and await those results, especially to come up with the Testorito Mineral Resource Estimate. If all goes well, the company will proceed to Phase 2 engineering.
