Grande Portage Resources Ltd. (GPG:TSX.V; GPTRF:OTCQB; GPB:FSE) announced in a news release results from drill testing the Ridge, Main and Deep Trench veins at its Herbert Gold Project in Alaska's Juneau Gold Belt.
"These holes continue to add confidence that this system is pervasive and will continue to grow," President Ian Klassen said in the release. "All veins drilled have encountered mineralized material. Mesothermal veins are usually less than two meters wide and often occur in parallel sets just as they are presented at the Herbert deposit."
Today's reported results are from four holes drilled from the U pad and three from the H pad.
The holes drilled from the U pad, 20U-1, 20U-2, 20U-3 and 20U-4, which primarily targeted the Deep Trench vein, encountered strong shearing and hydrothermal alteration where they intersected the Main Vein at mid-depths, the company reported. In hole 20U-4, gold values ranged from a high of 11.466 grams per ton (11.466 g/t) over 2.38 meters (2.38m) to a low of 1.38 g/t over 1.41m.
Hole 20H-3 returned the best intercept of the holes that hit the Deep Trench vein. It showed 11.773 g/t gold over 4.5m and visible gold in the core. This weighted assay includes a sample that demonstrated 0.77m of 51.26 g/t gold.
The Ridge vein, situated between the Goat and Main Veins, returned two strong intercepts, one to the west, the other to the east, about 70m apart in hole 20U-1. One was 29.21 g/t gold over 1.48m. The other, with visible gold in the core, was 16.53 g/t gold over 1.4m.
Drill results from the Elusive and Floyd veins are pending and expected to become available this month and into January, the company noted.[NLINSERT]
