"Employees will face court for allegedly stealing $1M in gold."

Two Kalgoorlie-Boulder mining company employees will face court next month for allegedly stealing gold worth up to $1 million.

Police allege the men, aged 29 and 32, stole the gold from the Jundee mine, 50km east of Wiluna on Monday and hid it in nearby bushland.

Police apprehended the men when they were allegedly going back to the hiding place with more gold, two days later.

The men have been charged with stealing as a servant.

Detective Sergeant Dave Tobin says police will allege the mens' positions at the mining company gave them unique access to the gold.

"As a result of their employment, they had access to the gold bearing concentrate and as you can see there is a large amount of it here and through that access and the work that they were actually doing, they come across it and were able to remove it from the site without initially being detected," he said.
