The China Securities Regulatory Commission has given permission to the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE), the largest futures bourse in China, to start gold futures trading.

The China Securities Regulatory Commission has given permission to the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE), the largest futures bourse in China, to start gold futures trading.

China already offers spot and gold and silver futures trading on the Shanghai Gold Exchange, which commenced in June. At the time, Shanghai Gold Exchange Chairman Shen Xiangrong suggested that the gold exchange could eventually team up with the futures exchange to launch gold futures.
