Will We See a Silver Breakout in 2013? (3/13/13)
Silver has been trading sideways so far in 2013, but what will the rest of the year bring? Will 2013 be the year silver prices break out or crash and burn? What is a sustainable silver price for mining companies and where will the metal come from to supply the next generation of industrial and investment demand? Most important, how can investors make money off this volatile sector? These were the burning questions The Gold Report took to analysts, money managers and heads of silver mining companies. The answers may surprise you.
As the silver space picks up momentum and grabs attention, it's taken on a decidedly Latin look. That's evident from The Gold Report's conversations with a handful of executives whose companies stand out among south-of-the-border silver producers. Sharing their opinions, insights and perspectives in our "virtual roundtable" are Ross Beaty, chairman of Pan American Silver Corp.; Mike Callahan, president of Silvermex Resources Ltd.; Jorge Alberto Ganoza Durant, president and CEO of Fortuna Silver Mines Inc.; and Lenic Rodriguez, president and CEO of Aurcana Corporation. Also joining the party is Brent Cook, familiar to The Gold Report readers as the renowned exploration analyst and geologist who produces the weekly Exploration Insights newsletter.
Legendary mining entrepreneur Ross Beaty is an optimist. He likes the opportunities present in both bear and bull markets. In this exclusive interview with The Gold Report at the Casey Research Summit in Phoenix, he explains his love of metals and alternative energy and what he is doing to position himself regardless of where the markets go.
