  Animas Resources

TICKER:  TSX.V: ANI

DESCRIPTION:  Animas Resources is a North American exploration company with diversified mining interests in one of the world's fastest developing mining countries, Mexico. The management group, with its significant and broad experience in the mining industry, plans to expand Animas Resources' reserves through development, discovery, and acquisition of high quality, precious and industrial metal properties. Building from the historic resource base at the Santa Gertrudis deposit (within a 125 sq. mile concession), the company will strategically expand the near surface and deeper resources to the economic decision points that increase shareholder value. The company will also evaluate numerous targets within its 296 sq. Kilometer Shirley concession with the goal of generating joint venture opportunities.

Corporate Update (12/10/08) Small Cap Catalyst Update on Animas Drilling Program   Animas Research Report by The Midas Letter   Hat Trick Newsletter (7/17/08)

The information below is based on the most recent information we have received from analysts and the companies participating in The Gold Report. We encourage you to visit the company's web site for updates.
"Animas Resources (ANI-TSXV; C$0.67) has optioned to earn up to 80% of the Ariel copper porphyry project in Sonora Mexico by spending $3.5 million in exploration expenditures over the next 5 years and completing a pre-feasibility study. The property is on trend to the southeast of La Caridad copper mine in a prolific copper belt.

After a large sell-off of shares in mid-December, Animas' share price has seen a slight recovery after the acquisition of a new property. Six drill holes still have results pending from Santa Gertrudis and positive results from any of these holes could give the share price a further boost."

"Animas Resources (TSX.V:ANI). . .is an early explorer, so I'm watching the drill results. Its situation is similar to Paramount's, but Animas is earlier in the process of trying to find the economic mineralization in the deeper veins at Santa Gertrudis. Results have been somewhat slow coming out on that property, but they're very active now and have had a couple of drill rigs turning down there. If they're successful and they prove up that some of the deep Nevada-style Carlin-type deposits are running down into Sonora, that deposit could get very big, very fast."
    -   The Gold Report Interview with Trey Wasser (Pt. II) (01/11/10)

"Animas Resources (TSX.V: ANI) came out with drill results as we're speaking and the drill results didn't appear to be good. The stock got hammered. Somebody sent me the drill results and I looked at it and said, hey, somebody's making a mistake because those are pretty good drill results. They're in the district and they've got really substantial management."

"Although I bought ANI.V weeks ago, the rationale for my entry is still valid. These are the reasons I think this is a smart bet:

  • They own a whole district. This is crucial in order for a stock to develop true 'story stock' potential.
  • They are in Mexico. So far Mexico is considered a desirable country to build mines in. They can basically drill all year long. No weather issues.
  • Jeff Phillips is backing the stock—a balanced and professional guy.
  • Bob Bishop recently joined the board. Prior to that he joined RES.V's board.
  • Lots of people who are responsible for RES.V – Rare Element Resources' recent ongoing success are on board.
  • Well-known geologists and executives are on board. Some came out of retirement in order to build this company and go for something they obviously view as a great opportunity.
  • Drilling is scheduled to start on 10/12/09.
I am just connecting the dots. Hugely successful people are backing the stock. They've done it before (Phelps Dodge being one example). They have had ample time to analyze all the data available and think about where the best targets to drill are located. Are there any guarantees? No. Successful trading is a game where your job is to play the odds. The right people are on board. As the saying goes: It's people that make mines. I put my money where my mouth is. My bet is that chances are very high these people know exactly what they are doing and that ultimately they will be successful.

The drilling is about to start. Let the truth machine do the speaking. You can wait until the first drill results come out. I wanted to build a position beforehand. The extremely tight share structure will make it difficult to get in if they come out with great drill results. Let's see what happens."
