Barkerville Gold Mines, British Columbia's newest gold producer, started production at its QR mine and mill in September 2010. In its first full year of production, the company plans to produce a combined total of 50 Koz. gold from the combined QR mine and the proposed Bonanza Ledge open pit (in permitting). Barkerville has initiated a large resource-expansion and exploration-drilling campaign to test both known areas to expand the mineral resource and underexplored sections of its 112,000-hectare land package.

Expert Analysis

The Gold Report Interview with Matthew Zylstra (1/30/12) "Barkerville Gold Mines Ltd. recently got a boost after receiving a permit for its Bonanza Ledge property, which is a high-grade open-pittable gold resource. . .updated resource calculations for the company's Bonanza Ledge, Cariboo Quartz and B.C. vein zone in the first half of 2012 could be a positive." The Gold Report Interview with Thom Calandra (11/16/11) "Barkerville Gold Mines Ltd., Frank Callaghan's company in British Columbia, a natural gold producer, is quite interesting. I'm fascinated. I hope to get out there but I do not own it."

The Gold Report Interview with Ian Gordon (10/10/11) "One company that we like very, very much is Barkerville Gold Mines Ltd. The reason we like the company is that it is in production. It's producing 25 thousand ounces (Koz.)/year of gold from its QR deposit in central British Columbia, Once it receive its permits to mine the Bonanza Ledge deposit, and that should be very soon, production will increase to 50 Koz. per annum. This makes the company very positive on a cash-flow basis. Barkerville is also finding and adding quite dramatically to its ounces in the ground position. It is going to bring in a second mill, and once that is permitted, production will rise to about 150 Koz./year. It is targeting 2013 for the second mill to be up and running. . . It's my favorite."

Matthew Zylstra, Northern Securities (9/13/11) "Baskerville Gold Mines Ltd. announced assays from a zone on Cow Mountain adjacent to the Caribou. . .catalysts include additional drill results from 2011 drill programs, news on permitting of Bonanza Ledge and updated resource estimates. Results are positive as they could add tonnage and augment the grade of the open pittable resource at Cow Mountain. . .we continue to anticipate news from the company on its Bonanza Ledge deposit also slated to be put into production as an open-pit mine."

The Gold Report Interview with Chen Lin (8/26/11) "Barkerville Gold Mines Ltd. has been on my list for a pretty long time. I like the company. I met the management. The stock has already gone up pretty significantly since my recommendation. However, it recently has been in consolidation, which could be an entry point. The company keeps making progress. It keeps producing gold, which means it can generate a lot of cash flow at the current gold price. That will fund its next move versus going into the market begging for money. . .I will be following that very closely. As long as the company is producing gold, it should be doing fairly well. As long as it can produce, even if it's not 100% as planned, the higher gold price will compensate. If the company can make its target, that will be a great bonus. . . The company is getting good drilling results. I'm sure when it updates its new resource, it will be much higher. Once the company starts to get into a good financial situation, it will do more exploration. Gold is prolific in that area—there is a lot to find." More >
