X-Terra Resources Inc. (XTT:TSX.V; XTRRF:OTCMKTS; XTR:FSE) identified a new mineralized system at its Troilus East project in Northern Quebec and near the former Troilus open pit, it announced in a news release.
During its initial prospecting of Troilus East, Quebec-based X-Terra discovered this new "Smoke" showing through sampling of polymetallic sulfides. It is located in the southwest part of the property, about 3 kilometers directly southeast of the old Troilus open-pit mine site. Its strike length is about 2.2 kilometers, the company stated.
Samples taken sporadically over the Smoke area returned grades of up to 0.25% copper, up to 8 grams per ton (8 g/t) silver, up to 0.7% zinc and 0.11 g/t gold, all of which together equate to 0.42 g/t gold equivalent. Also, the system correlates with several historical, undrilled electromagnetic anomalies, according to the company.
"Being able to define gold, silver and copper mineralization with varied geological features consistent with the Troilus deposit is a remarkable achievement from the first prospecting program," X-Terra President and CEO Michael Ferreira said in the release. "The X-Terra exploration team considers these results more than encouraging."
The company noted that it is now planning the next exploration phase that should commence shortly.
