Goldplay Exploration Ltd. (GPLY:TSX.V; GLYXF:OTCQB) announced in a news release that test results from one trench revealed a high-grade silver zone that extended mineralization from the resource area to the Faisanes target at the San Marcial silver-lead-zinc project in Mexico.
Channel sampling of the SMtr-001 trench, 113 meters (113m) long and located in the Faisanes target, showed a broad area of mineralization with a true thickness of about 56m and an average grade of 196 grams per ton silver (196 g/t Ag).
Two distinct high-grade zones exist in that broad area, suggesting they could be mined via open pit. One zone has an estimated true thickness of 15m at 472 g/t silver, and the other, 14.6m at 211 g/t silver.
"These excellent silver results from trench SMtr-001 are highly encouraging as Goldplay strives to expand the silver resource at the San Marcial Project," President and CEO Marcio Fonseca said in the release.
These results "suggest that mineralization from the resource area may be continuous into the adjacent Faisanes area, with definition of parallel zones," Fonseca stated. The significant widths of high-grade silver suggest there is upside potential in expanding the resources.
In fact, Goldplay plans additional trenching to further investigate the mineralization delineated at Faisanes, along strike to the west-northwest.
