CLQ: Well-Placed in Growing Lithium Market

Junior Mining Weekly (03/31/2010)
"Lithium market and equities: Every serious automobile manufacturer is now considering or acting on plans to introduce one or more e-cars to their brand. The recent Geneva auto show was replete with luxury and sport brands showing their green colors. Lithium battery plants are sprouting like mushrooms, leading some observers to suggest a potential over-capacity in that space. The hype has extended to certain OTCBB-listed lithium exploration companies but we are also following some serious exploration and development companies with more advanced projects, whether brine, clay or mineral-hosted. Canada Lithium. . .announced the results of a prefeasibility study for the Québec Lithium project near Val d'Or, Québec. The Stage I open-pit operation is expected to produce 19,300 t of battery grade lithium carbonate equivalent per annum, along with up to 50,000 t/a spodumene concentrate for the ceramic and glass industries. The project benefits from excellent recovery rates and the attractive power costs of Québec."
